Wilkinson & Millard to continue the charge in Germany! 2025 FIM Sidecarcross World Championship Round 6 - Preview

This weekend the 2025 FIM Sidecarcross World Championship marks a return to the sweeping hillside track of Strassbessenbach in Germany, which could not be more different from the previous round in Lommel. Many teams will breathe a sigh of relief to be back on hardpack going for the remainder of the season, although Madona in Latvia might also have a sandy surprise in store.

Last year, Marvin Vanluchene dominated overall in Germany, but the Leferink brothers and Koen Hermans each took a race win. The blistering heat took its toll however, with Sem Leferink among others unable to start race two due to heat exhaustion and dehydration.

If Marvin is continuing his enforced break from the sport, then the Prunier brothers, second overall one year ago, must fancy their chances of success. Hardpack is their specialist subject with fast downhills and big jumps high on their hit list.

We are now into the second half of the season, with the table taking shape at the top. Koen Hermans and Ben van den Bogaart enjoy a twenty-six-point lead over Killian and Evan Prunier, but due to hard riding and dogged determination, Brett Wilkinson and Joe Millard are just two points further back in third. The British pair are having their best season ever, with podium finishes to their credit. They in turn, are thirty-eight points clear of Justin Keuben/Dion Rietman whose aspirations were dented in Lommel with a zero score in race two.

Keuben has shown good speed again this year, and his challenge is far from over, particularly as the Leferink brothers are now breathing down his neck just two points behind.

The Lielbardis twins have muscled their way back up the table after a shaky start, into sixth place, ahead of the Austrians Benny Weiss and Patrick Schneider.

We must also mention Tim Prummer. He is on home soil and reunited with Jarno Steegmans. You can be sure they will be going all out to gain big points and improve their lowly twelfth position. They are already eyeing up 2026, having accepted all chances of championship success this year have evaporated. If the weather is anything like last year, we are set for a stunning time in Germany.

So, Strassbessenbach is where the eyes of all sidecarcross fans will be directed over the weekend of 19/20 July and it will be a weekend not to miss, so if you can’t be there, make sure you catch the live action as it happens on the live stream courtesy of FIM-MOTO.TV

Both days at Strassbessenbach will once again enjoy live TV streaming on FIM-MOTO.TV across all Qualifying and Grand Prix races and the prize-giving ceremony.
