"Very hard pill to swallow" for Jamie Carpenter who has undergone Third ACL reconstruction surgery

Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Jamie Carpenter’s season looks to be over after he revealed on his social media that he has just undergone ACL reconstruction surgery for the third time following his crash at the fourth round of the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship at Preston Docks.

The southern-based rider put aside a couple of tough years to pitch in with some fantastic results for the Crendon team, and ahead of the Preston Docks round, was sitting in fourth in the MX1 British Championship.

After battling through plenty of adversity over the past few years, you can be assured Jamie will come back tougher and stronger, and we wish him all the best with his recovery.

His full post on his social media said:

“Well, not sure where to start with this one… Have been quiet on the socials for the past month.

“Fresh out of surgery from my third ACL reconstruction, second time on this knee eight years apart. This time a bit more complicated due to the previous injury having to remove the previous graft that was hanging around in there and needing a different type of graft due to already having a hamstring graft out of both legs. I’ve also had a LET’s procedure involving extra reinforcements down the outside of the knee that will provide more stability.

“A very hard pill to swallow, especially after putting in a lot of hard work coming back from a shoulder injury last season. The work showed showing good speed and fitness sitting 4th in the @motulacubritishmx only three points behind 3rd.

“The @hondaracingmx team have been awesome this year and I’m gutted I couldn’t finish off the season the way it started.

“On a more positive note I have a lot of experience recovering from this injury so it’s time to smash the next few months! 🦿

“Thanks to the people that have been behind me through this 🙏🏽 Especially my family who at the end of the day are there through thick and thin ❤️”
