The rain dodgers! 2026 Norfolk & Suffolk JMC Championship Round 2 – Race Report & Results

The second round of the Norfolk and Suffolk Junior MCC championship was held on Sunday, 15th March at the home track of Great Hockham. Dodging the rain for the most part with some bright sunshine meant the track was in top condition.

The Auto class was dominated once again by George Foames, going 1-1-1 and bagging the Holeshot with ease. There were some strong battles with close lap times amongst the top ten riders. Caden Robinson had a solid day, going 3-2-2, coming 2nd overall with a super-fast lap time in the 3rd race. Louie Hutchings had another good day, riding with a 3rd place finish overall. Well done to all 24 Autos, with some racing for the first time this weekend.

Onto the 65cc group – yet again, our biggest youth group of the day. These youngsters don’t hang about! It was great to see Chase Miller back from injury and straight onto the podium with a 2-2-2 for second overall. Max Miller made it a sibling double on the podium with a clean sweep of 1-1-1 and another holeshot in the bag. Harrison Webb rode superbly to secure third place with a consistent 3-3-3 across the day. There were some excellent battles between Sonny, Arlo and Kenzie across the day too – all eager to get a top 5 finish.

The Small Wheel 85 was the most exciting classes of the day. Some really close riding with a different order and riders in the top 3 for all races. Freddie Preston got his first race win in the SW85 class in the first race and the Holeshot in the second. Harry Rennie battled for the race win in the 2nd and 3rd races. Roman Drew, George Hutchings and Jack Howell were all up there battling for the top 5 finishes. The overall podiums for the day went to Harry Rennie in 1st, Freddie Preston 2nd and George Hutchings in 3rd.
