The champ is back! 2025 Formula Grasstrack Championship Round 3 - Preview

Formula grasstrack senior champion Graham Thomas makes a return to the series on Saturday when the 2025 H&N Supplies Ltd Formula Grasstrack Championship heads to the legendary Chetton venue near Bridgnorth.

Thomas has missed the first two rounds, electing to concentrate on the 250cc class, but will be one to watch at the Shropshire venue.

The champion won’t have it easy; multiple senior champ Wayne Broadhurst heads the list of opponents. Broadhurst will be looking to put the gremlins of round 2 behind him. Also making a return to FGA action is Phil Thomas, who missed round 2 due to an injury. Malvern’s Adam Hawker will be keen to keep up his consistent form on the 125cc power unit.

There’s more strength in depth in the class with front men Colin How, Elwyn Beedles, Anthony Rowson and Sam Hall all capable of winning races.

Notable names missing are the top 2 from last time out, Kevin Gwillam (injury) and Andrew Rowson (work commitments).

In the Juniors, championship leader Archie Whitelam is joined by John Cox, Roman Ratcliffe and Joe Bain, who is riding for the 1st time in 2025.

A solid lineup in the Cubs sees Jessica Cox make a return to grass track action, and Charlie Dowd is also back after missing round 2. AJ Bence, Kaylem Bourne and Lucas Astley continue their season after all scoring well in the 1st two rounds. Caelan Ratcliffe also comes back to grasstrack action.

Albie South and Dakota Wright will no doubt continue their epic battles in the cadet class, whilst a decent turnout of auto cadets sees Lilly Bence, Dalton Wright, Kobi Gutteridge and Noah Bakewell all in Action.

The E-Bikes will see the same duo of Reggie Goodwin and JJ Falconer back for some more on-track battles.

The meeting is also in memory of former FGA Champion Steve Mildoon. Steve was a popular face in the grasstrack community and even more so at the Formula Grasstrack Association.
