The 2026 AllClear Services Ltd Formula Grasstrack Championship resumes this Saturday, 19th September, with Round 8 heading to the Pontesbury venue for the first time this season. The championship had been due to visit Hampton Old Hall for Round 7, but that meeting was postponed; the series now picks back up at Pontesbury with plenty still to play for across every class.

Saturday’s entry list features a strong contingent of local riders, including Teleri Hughes, JJ Falconer, Phil Thomas, Graham Thomas and brothers Anthony and Andrew Rowson, who make a welcome return to the championship after taking a break from racing so far this season.
Wayne Broadhurst arrives at Pontesbury unbeaten from six rounds and carrying a maximum 240 championship points. With Graham Thomas (234 points) and Kevin Gwillam (224 points) both confirmed for Saturday, the familiar top-three battle resumes, while Adam Hawker (214 points) completes a top four all present at Pontesbury.
Phil Thomas, fifth in the standings on 181 points, is also entered alongside Colin How, Glyn Edwards, Theo Copestake, Sue Dowling, Ben Crabtree, Sam Crabtree and Den Edwards, giving Saturday’s Senior class real depth.
The standout story of the Senior entry, however, is the return of local riders Anthony and Andrew Rowson, back in championship action after taking a break from racing so far in 2026. Archie Palmer also returns to the fold, having last competed back in Round 3, while Josh Baddeley and Colin Thorpe are both back in after appearing earlier in the season. Matthew Walker makes his first appearance in the 2026 championship, and stalwart Glyn Stanton also joins the Senior entry at Pontesbury.
The E-Bike class serves up arguably the standout contest of the weekend, with all three championship front-runners confirmed for Pontesbury. Hadlee Jones leads the standings on 136 points, with Cruz Harris second on 121, and Reggie Goodwin third on 119. With all three going head-to-head for the first time in several rounds, Saturday could prove decisive in shaping the destination of the E-Bike title.
Local rider Teleri Hughes also returns to the class, adding to a compact and competitive field alongside Harry Wicks, Blake Woolley and Maddie Adams.

Harry Worrall leads the Auto championship on 141 points and returns to action at Pontesbury without his closest rival Levi Collins (100 points, second overall) in the field, presenting another opportunity to stretch his advantage further.
Local rider JJ Falconer, Isla Gannon and Kobi Gutteridge complete a five-rider Auto entry alongside Worrall, with Gutteridge looking to build on his winning return to form at Malpas in Round 6.
Louie Price makes his first appearance in the 2026 championship in the Auto class, a new name and number for the entry list at Pontesbury.
There are no Cadet entries for Round 8. Dalton Wright’s unbeaten championship record of 124 points from five rounds contested remains intact.
The Cubs class welcomes back Lucas Astley at Pontesbury, returning to action following the badly bruised arm he suffered in the Round 5 crash at Hampton Old Hall that also forced his withdrawal from Round 6. Astley sits third in the championship on 118 points and will be keen to remind the field of his quality after his enforced absence.
Rogan Woolley, who leads the Cubs standings on 144 points after a dominant run of recent results, is also entered, along with Lillie-Mai Warwick (130 points, second) and the returning Lilly Bence. AJ Bence also features in the Cubs entry. Dakota Wright and Albie South, fourth and fifth in the championship respectively, are both absent from the Pontesbury entry list.
The Junior class is back to full strength at Pontesbury, with all three of the championship’s active riders confirmed. Archie Whitelam remains unbeaten and leads on 125 points, with John Cox Jr. close behind on 118. Jessica Cox, third overall on 69 points, completes the entry, meaning Saturday will see the Junior class’ most complete field in several rounds.
Practice starts at 12:00, with tapes up for the first race at 13:00. Admission is free to Spectators.
