All riders, spectators and teams / families planning to travel to Foxhill on Sunday for the final round of the Bridgestone British Masters powered by Rock Oil, should be aware that the Swindon Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday morning.

Part of the course incorporates ‘The Ridgeway’, which is the road commonly used to access Foxhill via Liddington from the A419.
The half-marathon is a ‘closed course’ event, which means that during the event, a road closure is in effect to all except emergency vehicles.
The closure is in place between 8:30 and 11:45 on Sunday; however, the exact times the closure is enforced may depend on the times the runners pass through that section of the course.
Anyone wishing to travel to Foxhill via this route on Sunday is advised to be on site by 8:30 to guarantee entry to the meeting for the morning races. The road may be reopened at around 11am, but this is not a guarantee and depends on how quickly the runners pass through that part of the course.
The section that goes past Foxhill is around 12km into the course. Informally, I would estimate the road to be closed between around 9:15 and 11:00, but this is only an estimate from experience of racing half marathons, and is not a guarantee.
Please obey and be respectful towards any marshals on the road, they are volunteers, and like at motocross, they are working to help the event go ahead.

Callas Hill (the lane that goes past Foxhill) is not affected, and it may be possible to access the venue via other routes, but please note the half-marathon route also goes past Wanborough, and closures are in place around there also.

The half-marathon is taking place on Sunday morning only, so those travelling on Saturday won’t be affected, nor will it affect leaving the venue after 11:45 on Sunday. But do be mindful that there may be volunteers out on the nearby roads putting up or taking down signage.
Action starts at 9am on both days and with all championship classes yet to be decided, it looks set to be a cracking meeting!
Plus, the traditional Saturday night end-of-season funfair and party means there’s plenty to enjoy both on and off the track. For the latest information on the series and championship progress during the weekend, search for ‘Bridgestone British Masters’ on social media channels.
