Sembiante shines at Fat Cat! 2022 British Minibike Championships Rounds 5 & 6 – Race Report & Results

The superb Fat Cat Motoparc was the destination for rounds 5 & 6 of the 2022 British Minibike Championships.

On Saturday the racing was cut short due to a couple of nasty incidents. We wish the injured riders a speedy recovery.

Sunday though, was a different matter with a full spread of races, serving up epic action throughout.

The fight for the Pro title is well and truly on between Zontal Racing’s Kieran Sembiante and reigning Champ Blaine Blackwell. Saturday’s one moto went the way of Blackwell, but Sembiante fought back to win two to Blackwell’s one. Sembiante now tops the standings by 70 points going into September’s final rounds. Daniel Fisher continued his great run of form and finished Sunday in third overall, taking the Rookie victory too over Leo Vowles in second, and Jack Harrison had a great day with third, and notching up a strong first moto with a second. Vowles leads Fisher in the Rookie Championship now by just 6 points.

The Young guns came of age in the Clubman with former Youth rider’s Ethan Lochire and Teagan Parnell stepping up to the Adults and finished first and second with Tom Burrill third.

Chris Hughes nailed the Masters class winning all four moto’s over the weekend. Zontal Racing’s Jody Burton was second on Sunday and Steve Scott was third.

It was a mighty fine weekend also for Tony Herd, who won all three Motos on Sunday for the Round 6 overall ahead of Paul Gell and Phil Thomas.

Jake Swann rocked up to Fatcat and blitzed the Farmbike class on Sunday over George Pym and Freddie Hales. Although he was absent at Fatcat Lewis Rose still heads the series.

In the SuperMod class, Jake Speller went through the card on Sunday to take the overall ahead of Steve Rhodes and David Lamb.

Ash Gorman continued his SuperStock dominance, grabbing the glory in all three moto’s and the number spot on the day over Liam Ruckwood and Luke Walker.

Harrison Haslam ran riot again in the Youth Senior class and racked up five moto victories over the two days. On Sunday Jacob Darley was second overall, and Jayden Bickerton was third.

Tyler Griffiths stole the show in the Youth Juniors going through the card on both days resulting in him chalking up a massive 99 point lead in the series standings. On Sunday Jack Brown was the runner up and Hugh Darley was third.

In the Kids 65cc class Arthur Moore made an impressive season debut, taking the chequers on all five occasions for the overall on Sunday. Jacob Hackett was second and has clawed in a good amount of points on series leader Zach White in the process. Oaklan Winnall rounded out day two in third.

Finlee Pope was in fine form in the Kids 50cc class, taking the top spot in each moto and the overall on Sunday but Lilly Senior continued to ride fantastic for second overall, which extended her lead at the top of the championship standings to 72 points. Heeley Coyne rode well on Sunday to stand on the third step of the podium.

The Final rounds of the 2022 championship are set to take place on the 24th and 25th September, with the venue to be announced.
