Searle shows class with Landrake MXGB victory for the Dirt Store Triumph Team

Dirt Store Triumph Racing extended their lead in the 2025 MX2 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship as Tommy Searle stormed to an overall victory on his return from injury. Billy Askew delivered a consistent performance, collecting valuable championship points, while Joel Rizzi showed strong pace in MX1 and battled hard on the challenging race track.

MX2 Class: Tommy Triumphs on Return and Askew Holds Second in the Standings

Tommy Searle showcased his experience on his return to racing following the injury he sustained in Abu Dhabi. In Race 1, Searle made a strong start, rounding the first corner in second place. The veteran found his rhythm mid-race, clocking the fastest lap on lap ten before crossing the line in second. Billy Askew, meanwhile, launched from just outside the top five and quickly moved into fourth on the opening lap, holding the position to the finish.

Searle surged to the holeshot in Race 2, beginning in a race-long duel with World Championship contender Oriol Oliver. Leading every lap, the veteran fended off the Spaniard’s pressure to claim his second overall victory of the season and strengthen his grip on the red plate — an impressive feat given his limited preparation heading into Sunday. Billy Askew started from seventh, pushing into fifth by lap seven and holding strong to secure fifth overall on the day, missing the podium by just two points.

MX1: Rizzi Continues to Build

Joel Rizzi made a strong start in Race 1, running sixth with the lead pack in sight, but a crash on lap two dropped him over 40 seconds behind. He remounted and charged from last place into the top 20, earning a valuable championship point for his efforts. In Race 2, the rookie didn’t get as strong a start, and with the track offering limited passing opportunities, progress was tough. Still, Rizzi kept pushing, setting his fastest lap on lap ten before taking the chequered flag in fourteenth. While the results were not what he had hoped for, the signs of improvement continue to shine through.

Weekend Summary:

Tommy once again demonstrated his ability and experience, overcoming the challenges of his recent injury to secure the overall win. His relentless fight from lap one to the chequered flag in both motos ensured the red plate remains firmly mounted to his TF 250-X. Billy’s consistent performance kept his MX2 title pursuit on track, delivering a mature ride on a circuit that caught out many riders. Joel endured his share of bad luck but showed plenty of determination, with flashes of his potential shining through across both races.
