Ricky Rules again! 2026/2027 South Centre Winter Enduro Round 1 – Race Report & Results

The 2026/2027 South Centre Winter Enduro series kicked off on Saturday 26th September with some glorious early autumn sun to treat the riders.

Local Legend Ricky Wiggins returned to the championship class, starting strong with a hole shot. Ricky maintained that lead throughout to take the overall win. Thank you to Ricky and his Monsters of Dirt team for continuing to support the series, and well done! Bradley Rowland set the fastest lap time of the day and kept it smooth to finish up in second place. Josh Player recovered from a steady start to finish in third.

In the Expert class, the winner was George Ward, who was the only expert to finish on 14laps. Paddy Twentyman had to settle for second place, but he did set the fastest lap of the group. Zach Patching had a consistent performance and finished the day in third place.

In the Expert Vets’ class, Sam Wilson had a decisive victory, finishing a lap up on the rest of the group. In second place was Jack Twentyman, matching his son’s podium position! Close behind in third place was Graham Reid.

Rhys Lewis took the top spot in the Clubman A class and set the fastest lap of the group. In second place was Arron Richard, who fought hard to keep third-place Adam Oriordan behind him.

In the Clubman Vets Class, there was a close battle for the top spot between Bruce Wareham and Ian Yeo, with Wareham winning the class and Yeo setting the fastest lap of the group but having to settle for second place. In third place was Tim Mathers.

Louie Maytom-Yelland took the win in the Clubman B class, a fantastic result for his first race out of the youth class. In second place was Andy Hartwell, and Jack Cromie finished the day in third place.

In the sportsman Vets class, Scott Carlson took the top spot after a close battle with Philip Bungey, who finished in second. In third place was Paul Weeks.

Ollie Nowell took the top spot in the sportsman class, setting the fastest lap of the class by over 45 seconds. In second place was James Dean, followed by Mckenzie Mathers in third.

The youth class was won by Jack Hacker, who impressively finished on 11 laps. In second place was Harry Wills, who fought hard to recover from a slow start. In third place was David James.

The next winter series event will be on Saturday 28th November; entries will open when the team return from competing at the 100th edition of ISDE in Portugal.
