Round 4 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship brought the series to Houston’s NRG Stadium for the first Triple Crown event of the season, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado delivering a night of speed that didn’t quite translate into the result his performance deserved.
Prado qualified sixth overall in combined 450SX times before getting off to a solid start in the opening Triple Crown race. The four-time world champion settled into a strong rhythm aboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, bringing it home in fifth place to open the night on a positive note.
Race 2 saw Prado take advantage of a perfect launch, grabbing the holeshot and leading a large portion of the race. Despite pressure from behind, the Spaniard maintained his composure to finish third and firmly establish himself as a podium threat. Unfortunately, his momentum stalled in Race 3 after a first-corner mistake left him buried in the pack, making progress difficult on the tight Houston layout. Prado crossed the line 11th, which placed him seventh overall for the night.

While the final result didn’t reflect his pace, Prado’s performance was encouraging as he moved to eighth in the 450SX championship standings heading into the next round.
“Riding-wise, I think this was a very good event,” Prado said. “I rode well all day — solid starts in the first two races, but in the third one I messed it up big time in the first corner and was really far back. It was very hard to pass that many riders in such a short race. I’m disappointed with the result because I think I could have done much better, but we’ll take the learnings from tonight into next weekend in Arizona.”
With speed clearly on display in Houston, Prado will look to convert that form into a stronger overall finish as the championship continues.
