Jorge Prado opened his 2026 AMA Supercross campaign in impressive fashion by claiming a maiden Supercross podium at Anaheim 1, finishing third in the 450SX Main Event for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
Making his first Supercross appearance with the team, the multi-time MXGP World Champion showed immediate promise as he continued to adapt to the demands of stadium racing aboard the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. Prado qualified sixth overall, a strong result as he acclimatised to Supercross race conditions early in the season.
The Spaniard made his intentions clear in racing action, powering to the holeshot in the opening 450SX Heat Race of the year and controlling the race to take a confidence-boosting victory. Carrying that momentum into the Main Event, Prado again launched out front and settled into a calculated, disciplined ride at the sharp end of the field.

Riding within his limits and avoiding mistakes on a technical Anaheim layout, Prado maintained a consistent pace to secure third position at the chequered flag, earning the first Supercross podium finish of his career in just his opening round with the team.
Reflecting on the result, Prado said:
“This is really ahead of my expectations – the goal for this weekend was to just get through each session and do the best that I can. I had a great preparation leading into this year, but I am still so new to Supercross. Getting the Heat Race win was awesome, but I am really happy with my Main Event and to be on the podium. I rode within my limits, and still don’t have a lot of words to describe my feelings right now, but all I can say is that hard work always pays off! It’s great to start the season this way, so now we’ll keep learning and look forward to a new opportunity next week.”
With a podium secured at the opening round of the championship, Prado leaves Anaheim with confidence, momentum, and valuable points as he continues his transition into Supercross competition.
