The event, which attracted just over 150 entries, saw a lap of some 25 miles in the Crychan forest above Llandovery in West Wales. With a special test not timed on the opening lap, it gave the riders a chance to pick their lines for the following laps. Championship riders had four laps to do so, whilst the expert class, as well as the Clubmen and ladies classes, had three laps ahead of them. The vets classes of over 40’s and 50’s would also have the three laps whilst the Sportsmen riders would do two laps.

Victory in the Championship class would go the way of Owain Humphreys.

A course whilst demanding in some places was more than rideable and a great opener for the season, whilst the ground was very wet the day itself proved to be a dry one apart from one heavy shower.
