Gabriel SS24 KTM has confirmed that Oriol Oliver will be leaving the team following an impressive 18-month partnership that saw the Spaniard establish himself in the MX1 class of the British Championship, where he secured third overall, and achieved some fantastic results in the MXGP class of the 2026 FIM World Motocross Championship.

Oliver joined the British-based squad in MX2 in 2025 before making the step up to the premier class for 2026, with both rider and team taking a gamble on the move to the 450.

That decision certainly paid off, with Oliver demonstrating his speed both domestically and on the world stage, finishing 16th in the 2026 FIM MXGP World Championship despite missing the final seven rounds. His world championship campaign included multiple top-ten finishes, a Fox Holeshot Award at his home Grand Prix and a number of performances that underlined his potential in the 450cc class.

Oliver also enjoyed a strong 2026 season in the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship, where he was a title contender in the MX1 class right up until he missed the final round.

In 2026, Oliver recorded three MXGB MX1 moto victories, ten top-threes and finished inside the top five in all 14 motos he contested during the British Championship season.

He made an immediate impression on his MX1 debut at Hawkstone Park, taking victory in the opening moto before finishing second in race two to secure second overall. Another standout performance came at Canada Heights, where Oliver produced a dominant double moto victory to claim the overall MX1 win.  Despite not making it to the finale at Blaxhall, he still landed third position in the championship, which was a fantastic achievement for the rider and the team.

Announcing Oliver’s departure, Gabriel SS24 paid tribute to his contribution over the past 18 months.

“9 British Championship podiums across MX2 and MX1, a podium finish on his 450 debut, multiple top-10 finishes in MXGP, Fox holeshot at home GP and many other achievements.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Oriol over the last 18 months, from his move up from MX2 to MXGP. Both Oriol and Gabriel SS24 took a risk heading into this season, and that decision has certainly paid off.

“We’re extremely proud of what we have achieved together and would like to thank Oriol for his commitment, professionalism and hard work throughout our time together.

“We wish Oriol all the very best for the future.”

With his first full, or nearly full, season on the 450 behind him, Oliver has shown he has the pace to compete at the sharp end in MXGP and the British Championship.

Where the Spaniard will line up in 2027 remains to be seen, but his performances this season should make him an interesting prospect for teams looking ahead to next year.
