Nicolai Skovbjerg joins Ducati for the 2027 MX2 World Championship

Ducati has added Danish rising star Nicolai Skovbjerg to its MX2 line-up for the 2027 FIM Motocross World Championship, with the 20-year-old joining Ferruccio Zanchi at the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team.

Skovbjerg makes the move into the MX2 World Championship following an impressive 2026 campaign in which he finished runner-up in the EMX250 European Championship.

The Dane, who was born in Padborg in Southern Jutland and has been racing motocross since 2009, spent three seasons competing in EMX250 after previously racing for two years in the EMX125 category.

His final EMX250 campaign proved to be his strongest, with Skovbjerg taking three overall victories during 2026. Those wins came in Sardinia, Belgium and the Netherlands, highlighting his strength in challenging sandy conditions.

I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter, working with the team and giving it everything I have. I can’t wait to get started. Let’s go!”

The move gives Ducati another exciting young prospect for its developing MX2 programme as Skovbjerg prepares to make his full World Championship debut in 2027.
