Majestic Mildenhall! 2026 Norfolk and Suffolk Junior MCC Round 6 – Report & Results

On one of the hottest weekends of the year, Norfolk and Suffolk Junior MCC lined up at the new layout of Mildenhall MX. A thrilling day of racing with 3 full blocks across 7 groups, plenty of competition and the championship is very close across many of the classes.

The Adults kicked off the racing for the day with 2 full gates of 40 riders. The top of the A group saw Liam Bennett taking the overall win for the day, closely followed by Ben Casey and Aflie Geddes Green with just a point between them.

There were some close battles in this group and a great start to moving up to Adults from the Youth class for Leyton Turner.

The Vets class were getting amongst it with the youngsters all day! Phil Burton took the top spot overall, closely followed by Tim Warnes and Darren Gooch, earning some strong championship points in 3rd. With stacked gates of 40 in both A and B, there were some quick performances from Mason Farr, who won B overall.

The Youth class saw superb sportsmanship from Tommy Lawford, who sacrificed a few positions to help a fellow rider. The return of Tommie Perfect, moving up from BW85s and straight on the podium with 2nd place overall. Bobby Topping had an outstanding trio of races to bag the top spot after a strong finish of 3rd in Race 1. Kieran Bullock rounded up the podium in this hotly contested class.

The Youth Open results saw Benjamin Arthurton on top form in all 3 races with a clean sweep of wins across the board. Josh Wyer showed skill throughout the day, securing 2nd place overall. The ride of the day came from Charlie Carter-Wright in the 3rd, setting the fastest lap of the race on the rough track and finishing 3rd overall.

BW85 overalls got interesting after penalties were awarded to 3 riders in race 1. The top spot on the podium went to guest rider George Goodwin. A trio of fastest laps and a holeshot went to Franky Donoghue, securing 2nd place overall, and another guest rider, Blake Hirst, rounded up the podium in 3rd. The action is hotting up in this class with some riders securing their best results of the season to get into the top 10 – Aden Smith, Albie Cowell and Harrison Townshend are all ones to watch.

SW85 welcomed back Jack Stanford, who cleared up with 3 race wins and setting fastest laps; Harry Rennie was in hot pursuit with the Holeshot in Race 2 and Roman Drew drawing on points for 3rd place. The speed across this group is phenomenal and great to see 28 riders line up on the gate. Congratulations to Miles Jessett and Chase Miller for their first races after moving up from 65s, all finishing in the top 20. Max Miller got stuck in from the off with a 9th place overall.

The 65cc class continues to impress this season, with many of the riders competing at British level. Guest rider Kobe Roberts left the pack in all 3 races, not letting off on the new layout at Mildenhall. Taylor Clarke has his starts dialled, getting the holeshot in race 2 and taking second place overall. Albie Wood put in a solid performance, going 3-3-3 for third overall. A standout performance from Alfie Hayden in 8th overall in his rookie year racing gears after moving up from the Auto class this season.

What a day for the Autos; a lot of drama across the top riders. A crash between leaders George Foames and Harrison Gale-Hesse in the 3rd race saw them both fight back through the pack to secure solid points. Harrison Gale-Hesse put in the ride of the day with the Holeshot in race 2 and his first podium, finishing 3rd overall. The top spot went to George Foames with a trio of fastest laps across the day. The final spot on the podium was guest rider Cole Blades in 2nd place, who took the race win in Race 3. A big shout-out to all the riders, some taking on the mountain for the first time – Fantastic to see!
