Kullas continues his podium run at Cusses!

Harri Kullas & the Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha team continued the second half of his Michelin MX Nationals British Championship campaign this weekend, at Cusses Gorse near Salisbury, going into the race with a healthy points advantage at the top of the standings.

Harri set a blistering pace in qualifying and set the fastest lap. However an uncharacteristic poor start saw Harri in 8th place in the first few turns, picking off riders until he passed Josh Gilbert for 2nd place on lap six. Tommy Searle had built a gap at the front and Harri closed him down, putting in the fastest lap of the race on the penultimate lap, to finish less than a second behind Tommy Searle.

In race two, Harri got a much better start in 4th place and moved to 3rd quickly, behind Josh Gilbert and leader Tommy Searle. Tommy led for most of the race until a mistake few laps from home

allowed Gilbert and Harri through. Harri desperately tried to make a pass and even put in the fastest lap of the race on the last lap, following home Gilbert by 0.5 seconds.

Harri Kullas “Really happy with my riding today especially on a hard pack track like Cusses. I enjoyed the track and it was prepped well. I got pole position but in the first race start I was like 8th and it took me a while to get to Tommy at the front and I ran out of time.

Race two was a much better start and I had a good battle with Josh and Tommy, coming home 2nd again.

Happy to compete with Tommy and Josh today and to come away with a podium”

Dan Thornhill continued his Michelin MX Nationals campaign at Cusses Gorse this weekend and was looking to build on some strong recent races.

Dan was starting from the outside and was pushed wide at the start, but was still 10th in MX1 at the end of lap one. He put in a great ride to 7th with a few laps to go and was close to catching 6th place man, Brad Todd at the finish.

Dan’s race two start saw him mid pack and it was a challenge to get through the field a make up time, as he finished an eventual 10th in race two, with 7-10 finishes giving him 9th overall.

Dan Thornhill – “A productive day for me today all things considered at Cusses Gorse for. After a good evening racing the Patchquick trophy on Wednesday evening I suffered a sickness bug which wiped me out.

Race 1 I rode a solid race and worked my way up to finish 7th.

After the first race I felt very empty in the tank. I did my best to re fuel but a lack of fuel the last few days hit me pretty hard.

I gave my all in race 2 but battled against my own body and was only able to bring home a 10th come the end.

Overall I’m happy with my riding and the progress made these last couple of races”

Sam Nunn continued his Michelin MX Nationals Pro MX2 campaign this weekend at Cusses Gorse, Wiltshire.

Sam had his best qualifying session of the year with the 4th fastest lap and then in race one was 9th at the end of lap one. He put on a great charge through the field and moved to a strong 6th place at the finish.

In race two Sam had a bad start and was well outside the top 20, where it would be really hard to make up much ground. A fall later in the race didn’t help his cause either and Sam came home an eventual 12th in the MX2, for 8th overall.

Sam Nunn – “Lots of positives to take away from today. I had a really good qualifying with 4th place. Then in race one I had to come through the pack after a bad start.

Unfortunately I couldn’t do the same in Moto 2 after another bad start. A weekend off and then we go again for Revo MXGB at Fat Cats”
