The Big Wheeled 85s got us underway at the first round of this year’s summer series. Conor McGrath swept up all 3 wins and did so convincingly. He went 1,1,1 for the overall win on the day. Close behind him both Alfie Payne and Ashley-John Matthews battled it out for second overall. Eventually, after all 3 motos, it was Ashley who claimed second overall going 3,2,2. Alfie Payne did all he could on the day and after narrowly missing out on a 2nd he secured 3rd overall after going 2,3,3.

The Small Wheels were next out on the track. It was George Corke that was unbeatable in all 3 races going 1,1,1 to take the overall. Not far behind George, was Max Corke who went 2,3,2 for second overall in his class. In race 2 Joseph Wright pinched second place from Max. They battled hard lap after lap but Joseph came away successful. He went 3,2,4 to gain him the last spot on the podium in his group. A great start to the season for all riders involved in the class.

The Juniors had some great racing on show! It was a close run set of motos from the front 3 of Marty Spires, Ryan Clift and Toby Bond. Ryan Clift took the win in moto one but Marty claimed both race two and three. Toby also threw himself in the mix getting second in moto 2. In the end, it was Marty who took the overall with 2,1,1. He was followed by Ryan in second place after his results of 1,3,2. Toby secured 3rd with 3,2,3.

It was young Will Kremer who claimed all 3 Auto motos. Miles ahead of the rest of the field he went 1,1,1. There was no stopping him on the day. Some incredible riding on show from him showing he’s certainly one to watch in the future. Leo Adams bagged himself second in the last race and second overall. He went 3,3,2. And securing 3rd was Harrison Ashwood-Mcneil. He raced his way to 3rd with some great riding on display with his results of 4,4,3.

Race one for the MX1 was red-flagged just two laps in after a big crash. After the racing restarted, George Clarke won the first moto but went home early making way for the youngster Preston Williams to get two wins in moto 2 and 3. 3,1,1 gave him the overall on the day. Josh Coleman showed everybody what he was made of with his impressive results of 2,3,2. Charlie Razzell was rapid on his new 450 giving a great performance seeing him grab the last spot on the podium. He came away with 4,4,3 and a 3rd overall.

Every rider earned their positions with hard battling and great racing seen all day.

In MX2 Lewis King London claimed all 3 chequered flags going 1,1,1. It was a breathtaking performance by Lewis giving everybody at the track something to talk about. He was closely followed by Mitch Young who bagged 2,2,2 for an easy second overall in his class, yet again a strong performance. 3rd was a battle between Jordan Bachelor and Mark Bracegirdle, but it was Bachelor who came out on top with some good riding on display and 3 good results of 3,3,4 which earned him his podium

The VMX had some good riding on display. The top 4 battled it out all day long. It was Matt Walker who walked away with a first in race one closely followed by Daniel Cavanagh who showed why he is someone to watch in the title race this season. Neil Grant took the chequered flag in the next two motos. Mark Morris was in the mix with two 3rd place finishes but narrowly missed out on 3rd overall to Cavanagh’s strong performance going 2,3,4. Walker came away with victory after 1,2,2 followed by Neil Grant in second with 4,1,1. It’s going to be another tight season for all riders in the vets championship.

The best racing was saved till last coming from the Youth class. Luke Southern was unbeatable in race one taking the chequered flag with ease but a small mistake in race two meant that he had to settle for a second place but made up for it by crossing the line first in moto 3 . He took 1,2,1 giving him a strong start in the championship and overall on the day. It was Jamie Watson who took the second moto away from Southern with some very impressive and smooth riding. 2,1,2 gave him a 2nd overall. It was Cody Spacagna, new to the class, with a brilliant ride for 3rd. He went 3,4,3. The youth class is going to be a great one to watch all season with this standard of riding.
