King John of Wildtracks! 2023 Kensworth MXC Club Championship Round 3 – Race Report & Results

Kensworth Schoolboy Motocross Club’s third round took place at Wildtracks, Chippenham on the coronation weekend.

Yet again Kensworth we’re tried by the weather. With 17mm of rain falling the day before, but with great track prep from the team at Wildtracks, KSMXC managed to get racing underway.

In the first block, race order changed to adults going out first. To hopefully create lines for the youngsters.

In the over 35’s Jon Tapp took the win in first Moto of the day, showing he excelled in the tough very wet conditions.. Matty White came through to take Moto two and three, for the overall victory. Tapp took second with Paul Edge third.

In the over 50’s class Paul “Wildman” Willis had a great day on his 125 in the tough conditions to take the overall With Sid Richardson second and Tony Fricker Third.

In the Youth 125/250’s. Tyler Etheridge took the overall with Alex Truslow Second and George Brant Third.
In the stacked Youth 125 class the racing was on fire. Kai Thorpe took the overall with a 1-1-9. Ben Casey second and Rocco Hands third.

Youth Start

In the Small wheel 85 class an on fire Jack Leese took victory in all three motos, making the tough conditions look easy. Riley-Ray Barrow took second overall with great consistency. Franky Donoghue took third.

In the fast Big Wheel 85 class Travis Bixby took the first Moto and showed he loved the technical wet conditions. Blake Ward-Clarke took victory in the second Moto, but is was Ronan Mallet’s consistency throughout the day saw him take first place in Moto three and the overall victory on the day.

Rob Wood

KSMXC under 35 2022 champion Rob Wood took the overall with a 1-3-1 in the under 35 class. A great fast ride and victory in race two saw James Thompson take second overall. Matt Wood took third overall, with great consistency.

65cc Start

John Slade took the overall in the Junior 65’s with an impeccable ride, taking first with a clear lead in all three motos. A great ride from Zach White saw him take the second Moto with Jack Stanford third.

Auto Start

In the Auto class Jesse James took the overall with a 1-3-1 making the tough conditions look easy. Max Miller was second with a 3-1-2. Jack Howell was third.

Well done to the KSMXC team, who worked so hard to complete round 3.
