After an injury-disrupted season, County Durham-based teenager Hayden Statt heads to the final round of the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship at Blaxhall with one thing on his mind – winning.

The Chambers Racing KTM rider came into the year with high expectations and was one of the title favourites in the British 125cc class, but a worrying neck injury and two missed rounds took him out of championship contention.
“It’s definitely been a frustrating year, coming into the season with high expectations, but unfortunately with the neck injury I have not been able to meet those standards I had set for myself.”, Hayden told Dirt Hub
Statt has shown plenty of pace since returning, particularly over the last three rounds, and wants to finish the British season with the result he believes that his speed deserves. There remains a slim mathematical chance of Statt making the championship podium, but that isn’t where his attention is heading into Sunday.
“I’m very keen to just go into the last round and go 1-1 at Blaxhall to end the season on a high and to kind of make up for the previous ones. Heading into the final round I’m not so worried about championship standings. I’ve sort of accepted where I am with obviously missing two full rounds, but I’m just going into the round to win and expecting nothing less.”

“It’s me against me”
With his big rival, Drew Stock, moving up to MX2, Statt will become one of the more experienced riders in the 125cc class, but he isn’t concerned about becoming one of the elder statesmen in a class full of super-young up-and-comers.
“With Drew moving up it makes no difference to me. In my mindset it’s just me against me and trying to ride to how I know I’m capable. I’m not sure how I will feel being one of the older riders within the class, hopefully a role model in sort of a way, but again I’m just focused on myself and it’s me against me.”
Statt believes both his speed and consistency have improved during the closing stages of the season.
“The past few rounds I would say my speed has improved and I’ve become more consistent, as I showed I was the faster rider at Duns. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve just tried to remain calm and just let the race come to me.”
Statt confirms Chambers KTM stay for 2027
Looking beyond Blaxhall, Statt has confirmed to Dirt Hub that he will remain with Chambers Racing for 2027, with his sights firmly set on success at home and in Europe.
“Yes definitely, I want to be at the front of the EMX125 for next year, so over the winter I’m going to put some good graft in and make sure I’m there going into round one. I will be remaining with the Chambers KTM Racing team. I’m very happy where I am at the moment with the team and I want to make some good memories next season with everyone at Chambers.”
“For the ’27 season I have my eyes set on European wins and British wins.”
