Harry Walker takes Red Plate of French Sand Race Championship with second in Grayan!

Ahead of the fifth round of the series, Harry Walker held a solid podium position in the Quad class and was within fighting distance of championship leader Randy Naveaux, and second-placed Keveen Rochereau.

As the race got underway, Walker, the 2025 British and EMX Quad Champ dug deep and rode hard to control and dominate on a challenging circuit of around 15km, located between the beach and forest of the popular French sand-racing venue.

Series leader Naveaux suffered mechanical issues, which paved the way for Walker to push ahead and lead the 120-minute gruelling race. Intent on making no mistakes, Walker took a steady approach to the last two laps,
unaware of the threat from wild-card, hard-charging youngster Braxton Grosse from San Diego. A mere second was all it took for the American to relegate Walker to second at the finish line; however, as a series-registered rider, Walker took the championship points.

Commenting on the race, Walker said, “I led the whole race and was then passed by Braxton on the last lap with two corners to go. Completely gutted about that, as I was trying to get to the finish line, but got caught.
On a positive note, I’m going to Le Touquet, the biggest quad sand race in the world, with the red plate. If someone had said to me at the beginning of the season that I’d be in this position, I really wouldn’t have believed it. I’ll give it my all to win the race and the championship. Got a lot of work and training to do in the next five weeks, but I’ve got great support from my team and sponsors, and we are on it!”

As the series heads to the final round at the famous Le Touquet, Walker is on equal points with Rochereau but leads the championship thanks to a higher placed finish at Grayan.
