Go gadget Gorman! 2022 British Minibike Champs Rounds 3 & 4 – Race Report & Results

The 2022 British Minibike Championship returned to the fold with rounds 3 & 4 of the series at Kieradan Park in Scunthorpe.

Reigning Pro champ Blaine Blackwell is clawing back the deficit left from his round one moto DNF, by winning the overall on both days but series leader Kieran Sembiante nailed the first two moto wins on Saturday before a third moto mare pushed him back to fourth overall. Daniel Fisher is pushing closer to his first-ever Pro win with another strong performance and second overall on Saturday with young gun Leo Vowles in third.

Sembiante was again a double moto winner on Sunday but Blackwell’s three motos were more consistent so Kieran had to settle for second overall, with Masters racer Chris Hughes firing in with an impressive third.

The Red plate stays with Sembiante who has a 62 point lead over the consistent Jody Burton, with Blackwell a further 8 points further back.

In the Clubman Ash Arrowsmith was on top on Saturday and was flanked on the podium by Kiya Glassey and Jeff Pike with a complete rerack on Sunday with Callum Gutteridge taking the win over Patrick Ryan and Jordan Johnson.

Daniel Fisher nailed the Rookies class on both days ahead of Leo Vowles, with Jack Harrison third on Saturday and Ben Moran doing the same on Sunday.

In the Masters class Jody Burton went 1-2-2 on Saturday for the round three victory, taking advantage of a Chris Hughes moto one DNF. Dan Foreman was second with Hughes pinned back in third. Hughes was back on top on Sunday with a 1-1-1 scorecard, Burton was second and Foreman was third. Hughes now leads the series by 12 points over Burton.

The Vets category saw Chris Rose at his finest on Saturday taking all three moto wins and the overall to boot. Ian Lennox edged out Paul Gell for second. Tony Herd was Sunday’s hero tough and he went undefeated to land the top spot ahead of Lennox in second and Jay Taylor in third.

Lewis Rose was in beast mode in the Farmbikes and cleaned sheeted on Saturday notching up the overall ahead of Sam Thomson and Senna Summers. On Sunday though Jordan Haigh snatched a moto two victory to gain second on the day behind Rose who nailed the other two motos. Freddie Hales was third. Rose now has a massive 97 point advantage in the series.

The SuperStock races saw Ash Gorman at his epic best and he went 6 for 6 over the weekend. Tom Dunk snatched second on Saturday with Liam Ruckwood in third while on Sunday Gorman was followed

In the Youth Seniors Harrison Haslam continued his win streak from round two and notched up another six of the best at Kieradan to extend his lead in the series. Jayden Bickerton was runner up on Saturday with Jacob Darley third. Thomas Hunt stood on the second step of the podium on Sunday with Darley once again filling the third spot.

Tyler Griffiths rode stormer in the Youth Junior class cleaning up with a full house of 6 chequers over the weekend & a double trip to the top step of the box. Jack Brown and Olly Haynes were second and third on each occasion.

Jacob Hackett was another racer to go unbeaten by blizting the Kids 65cc class. Jack Stanford had a good Saturday grabbed second with Zach White third, while on Sunday Oaklan Winnell stepped it up for second with white again third.

The Saturday winner in the Kids 50cc was Finlee Pope who did the business with 3 from 3 over Elliott Hamilton and Lily Senior, but Pope was absent on Sunday which gave Hamilton the chance to shine and shine he did by going 1-1-1 for the overall. Senior moved up a step on the box too for a fantastic second with Erik Lennox riding well for third.

The series now moves onwards to FatCat on the 23rd & 24th July for rounds 5 and 6 of the Championship. Entries are open via https://minibikechamps.co.uk/
