Gajser secures podium at rain effected MXGP of Australia!

Honda HRC’s Tim Gajser closed out his 2025 MXGP campaign with a third consecutive podium, taking third overall at the rain-hit MXGP of Australia. Severe weather forced organizers to cancel the second MXGP moto at Hidden Valley, meaning results from the opening race decided the overall classification.

Gajser (Slovenia) delivered a steady ride in moto one, shadowing the second-placed rider throughout the race but unable to find a way past. His third-place finish was enough to secure his third podium in as many rounds, a positive note to end a season that saw him return to the front after injury setbacks.

Teammate Ruben Fernandez (Spain) battled hard in moto one, carving through the pack to reach fifth and holding the position to the flag. That result lifted him to fourth overall in the 2025 MXGP World Championship, a career-best finish that highlights his growing consistency.

Tim Gajser: “Not quite the ending of the season that I would have liked, with race two being cancelled, but it was the right decision given the conditions. My first race with a third was good, but I couldn’t get close enough to make a move for second. Overall, this season wasn’t what I hoped for, but it was nice to come back after injury and battle at the front again.”

Ruben Fernandez: “I’m happy to end this campaign with a strong moto. Finishing fourth in the championship is a good reward after some tough rounds. It was an up-and-down year, but I felt I finished strongly and being on the podium in China was a highlight. Hopefully next year we can push for even more.”

Both riders now turn their focus to the upcoming Motocross of Nations at Ironman Raceway, Crawfordsville (USA), where Gajser will represent Slovenia and Fernandez will line up for Spain!
