FIM Europe launch new Junior European Sidecarcross Championship for 2026

FIM Europe is proud to announce the launch of the Junior European Sidecarcross Championship.

Starting in 2026, the new series features between three and six races held alongside the World Sidecarcross Championship calendar. This initiative aims to provide young and up-and-coming competitors with the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the World Championship paddock, creating a clear pathway from national to international competition.

FIM Europe introduces a Junior European Championship series inside the overall European Sidecar Class up to 50 years old, which features teams competing with sidecars powered by engines of up to 500cc and riders from 15 to 23 years old in the Juniors. For passengers, there is no age limit. This new platform is designed to nurture the next generation of riders and strengthen the foundations of the sport.

Michal Sikora, FIM Europe President
“The Junior European Sidecarcross Championship is an exciting step forward for our sport. By offering young athletes the chance to compete alongside the World Championship, we are building a strong bridge between grassroots and elite competition. This project reflects our commitment to developing the sport at every level and to providing riders with the best possible stage to grow and succeed.”

Martin Bena, WSC Promoter
“I’m very glad that FIM Europe has found a solution for filling the gap between the national championships and the World Championship. This will allow crews of all ages to compete on world-class tracks, within the same paddock, in a format that will truly benefit the competitors.”
