Eli Tomac added another chapter to his Daytona legacy on Saturday night, taking a commanding win at Round 8 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship at Daytona International Speedway and becoming the first rider to claim eight premier class victories at the iconic venue.
Already the most successful rider in Daytona Supercross history, Tomac arrived with confidence and delivered when it counted. A strong start to the day saw the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider post the second-fastest qualifying time, guiding his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to a 1:15.020s lap on the unique, high-speed layout that blends Supercross rhythm with outdoor-style conditions.

In 450SX Heat 1, Tomac launched to the holeshot and never looked back. Controlling the race from the front, the 33-year-old stretched his advantage to over five seconds by the chequered flag, taking a convincing wire-to-wire victory.
The Main Event required a different approach. After securing a top-five start, Tomac immediately began working forward. By Lap 6, he had picked off the riders ahead with a series of decisive passes to seize control of the race. From there, he managed the pace and the evolving track conditions to secure his fourth win of the 2026 season and the 57th premier class victory of his career.

The result not only extended his Daytona record but also tightened the championship picture. With nine rounds remaining, the two-time Supercross champion now sits just one point outside of the 450SX points lead.
Reflecting on the milestone victory, Tomac said:
“Somehow I have won eight Daytona Supercrosses! I just go out there and roost the berms like I’m at my home track – I love this dirt and the way it develops. Of course, I had to work for it there tonight, I went through all my main competition and just had a great time on my motorcycle. I love spraying these sand turns, I’m so thankful to get it done with Red Bull KTM, and to make up some championship points this weekend.”

Daytona has long been regarded as one of the most demanding rounds on the Supercross calendar, and once again Tomac proved why the Florida classic suits his style. With momentum on his side and the points gap nearly erased, the 2026 title fight is very much alive.
