With the hot weather, the Blaxhall Circuit had been watered in the days leading up to the events to ensure the track was in the best condition possible. In the qualifying session for the Youth 125/250 class, Reece set a number of fast laps and finished the session as the fastest 125 rider by nearly 2 seconds and second fastest of the combined session. In the Big Wheel 85 session, it was Josh Vail who quickly went to the top of the leader board by over half a second and stayed there for the session.

Next up it was time for the first of the Youth 125/250 races and Reece made a good jump by was out dragged by the 250 machines around him going into the first corner. Early in the race, Reece was just inside the top 10 of the combined race and third 125 rider but was pushing forward. Unfortunately a small crash halted him progress momentarily. Reece continued to push hard for the remainder of the race and came home second in the 125 class and fourth in the race.

Following Reece was the first Big Wheel 85cc race and Josh Vail got out of the gate inside the top 3 but quickly took over the lead by the end of the opening lap. Once in the lead Josh continued to post fast laps at the front of the field and open a comfortable lead to take the race win by nearly 8 seconds.

Later in the day it was time for the second race of the Youth 125/250 and this time Reece suffered a bad start but quickly recovered and moved forward. Reece soon moved into the lead of the 125cc class and continued to push forward and up the order in the combined race too, as he went on to take the 125 win and fourth in the race. The race win gave Reece the overall victory as he continues to lead the 125cc championship by 7 points.

In the second and final Big Wheel 85cc race, Josh made a good start and quickly moved into the race lead. Once in lead, Josh repeated his opening race and opened a gap over the chasing pack to take another comfortable race win to secure the overall victory and extend his championship lead to 17 points.

Speaking after the racing Team Manager Leighton Haigh said “It was another great day in the sunshine for both riders. Reece had some struggles and made it hard for himself with small crashes, but still got the job done and took the overall. Josh was in great form all day and topped every session and race to get the overall and extend his points lead. So, it was a great day for the SJP Moto team and our sponsors and we look forward to the upcoming events”
