Checking in with Reece Jones

Checking in with Reece Jones

2024 British Youth Motocross Champion Reece Jones saw his Rookie pro season halted before it even began with a crash and a knee injury at last year’s Hawkstone International. Not to be deterred, though, the Young racer will be back racing in the same event this year, although this time in the MX1 class on a 450, racing against the likes of World Champion Romain Febvre and the Bullet Jeffrey Herlings.

On top of that, Reece will be taking on the MX1 class of the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship, although things could have turned out differently for the multi-time youth Weston Beach Race winner and 2025 Weston Youth champ, as a mid-season stint racing Enduro saw him get an offer to ride in the World Enduro Championship.

Reece tells us more, “I am really looking forward to coming back and racing again. I’ve missed being behind the gate and making everyone who helps me proud. I didn’t make my pro debut last year because of a big knee injury at the Hawkstone International. In qualifying, I felt good in myself to have a good year, but it didn’t go to plan from the start, and it took me a while to get my knee back right and bring my confidence back, so I did a lot of enduro racing to bring my mind back to racing. Enduro is a mix for me with it being such long weekends. I could have taken a world championship ride for 2026, but with work, I just simply didn’t have time, as I work full-time 40 weeks now, so racing is just a weekend thing and a bit of fun for me now.”

Reece did manage to make his Adult Weston Beach Race debut in 2025, though, and at one point was at the sharp end in fourth position before a crash counted him out of the running with the Youth race run afterwards.

On his 2026 Weston Beach race target, Reece said, “I would love to win the Weston solo race at some point; that is my main goal there, but with racing with such good guys, it would be a difficult one.”

For now, though, all eyes are on Motocross. “I will be making my full professional debut at Hawkstone International on the 15th February in the MX1 class. I can’t wait to be back.”

We wish Reece the best of luck with his 2026 season!
