Charlie Richmond to race VMXDN at Hawkstone

One of the rising stars of British MX -Charlie Richmond whose day job is racing for the Crendon tru7 Honda squad under the watchful eye of multi time world champion Dave Thorpe (who incidentally will be on hand all weekend as guest of honour, celebrating 40 years since his iconic ride at the 1986 GP at Hawkstone enroute to his 2nd 500cc world championship), is heading to VMXdN Hawkstone 2026 on August bank holiday weekend.

Richmond is the reigning 125cc British champion, and in his rookie year on the MX2 he has had podium success in the MXGB series and scored GP points at the recent Foxhill round of the world championship. He most certainly is one of the brightest stars we have up and coming in British Motocross, and it’s great to see.

For VMXdN, Richmond has secured a brand new, fresh-out-of-the-crate 2007 CR 250 from long-time sponsors S Briggs and is lining up in the crazy competitive Evo Ultra class. This is where the bikes are two-strokes up to and including 2008 models, so the bikes are vintage, just not some of the riders in this class. It’s a very competitive class with the cream of the British MX talent alongside international counterparts all going bar-to-bar on two-strokes older than they are and always provides stand-out racing action across the weekend.
