Champs performance from Blackwell! British Minibike Championships Round 7 & 8 – Report & Results

It was a triumphant return to Champs Parc in Kettering for Minibike Champs who held rounds 7 and 8 of their British Championship there last week.

The Battle at the head of the Pro championship has been raging between Blaine Blackwell and Zontal Racings Kieran Sembiante, but this weekend Blackwell was in the form of his life and blitzed to a complete set of 6 wins from 6 and the double overall and in doing so has now built up a 71 point lead over Sembiante in the Championship. Daniel Fisher had a fantastic Saturday with second with Sembiante third while on Sunday another Zontal racing team racer Jody Burton edged out Harry Streeter for the number two spot.

Jacob Hackett was back with a bang in the Kids 50cc class maxing out on both days ahead of series leader Oaklan Winnall on each occasion. Zach White grabbed the third poidum spot on Saturday with Zach White doing the same on Sunday.

Not to be outdone Robbie Daly in the Kids 65cc’s completed his own perfect weekend followed by Riley Ray Barrow on each day. Franky Donoghue was third in Saturday and now holds a slender 9 point lead over Daly in the series standings. Mason Dough had a good day on Sunday with third.

Hugh Darley was Saturdays Youth Junior winner going 1-1-1 ahead of Olly Haynes and Junior Weaver, but table topper Tyler Griffiths fought back hard on Sunday taking the chequers all three times over Weaver and Darley.

Harry Lee was a demon again in the Youth Seniors and has now built up a phenomenal 135 gap over second in the championship table. Jacob Darley had a good day on Sunday with second with Ethan Lochrie third. Harrison Haslam would finish second splitting Lee and Darley on the Podium.

The epic Farmbike group saw Shay Botcher feasting on Saturdays victory over Senna Summers and Luke Coker, while on Sunday multiple round winner Matt Bayliss cleaned up ahead of Aaron Omahony with Botcher in third.

In the SuperMods Grant Martin was victorious on Saturday with Tom Dunk doing the big one on Sunday.

It was as you were in the Superstock class at the start of day one with Lewis Rose taking the first two moto wins but  Ben Rose came good to grab the victory in the final moto and the overall with it ahead of reigning champ Ash Gorman, with Lewis suffering from a poor moto finishing third. On Sunday Gorman was back to his best and won all three motos claiming his first overall of the season. Lewis Rose was second with Ben Rose third.

Neil Parsons took advantage of the absence of series leader Chris Rose and notched the number one spot each day and now tops the standings. Jay Taylor and Phil Thomas would fill the second and third spots both times.

The Dan Foreman/Jody Burton dual for the Masters title continued with Saturday going the way of Red Circles/GP Cube racer Foreman with Burton fighting back to stand on top of the podium on Sunday. Scott Joynor would finish second on Saturday with Burton third, whole on Sunday it was Foreman second and Joyner third. Just 9 points now separate Burton and Foreman in the Championship race.

Mixing it at the sharp end of the Pro’s Harry Streeter racked up the points to win the Rookies on both occasions. On Saturday Leo Vowles was the runner up, with Warren Benner. These two then switched places on Sunday.

It was super close in the Clubman but coming away with a double victory was Shaun Ballard. He eked out an advantage over Alex Cheshire and Phil Thomas on Saturday and Ash Arrowsmith and Tony Herd on Sunday.
