British Quadcross & Sidecarcross Championship returns to Wales in 2026

The ACU has officially announced the dates for the 2026 British Sidecar and Quad Championships, revealing an exciting season ahead for both disciplines. Sidecarcross teams will contest six rounds, with a possible seventh still to be confirmed, hosted by Nora MX, Nett and other clubs. Meanwhile, the British Quad Championship will feature five rounds across top UK venues, split between Nora MX and Nett.

One of the biggest headlines from the announcement is that British Championship racing is returning to Wales for the first time in years — thanks to Nora MX, who will bring both series to Monster Mountain, one of the UK’s most acclaimed off-road venues.

Nora MX Heads Back to Monster Mountain

Nora MX will take quad riders and sidecar teams back to Monster Mountain twice during the 2026 season. One weekend will feature club rounds, while the second will host British Championship racing.

One of these events will coincide with the Dirt Days Festival — a full celebration of motocross culture featuring racing, family entertainment, stunt shows, and even lawnmower and e-bike races. Following the success of this year’s festival, Nora MX’s 2026 return promises to be even bigger, cementing Monster Mountain as a key destination for off-road motorsport in Wales.

The news that Monster Mountain will appear twice on the 2026 Nora MX calendar has sparked real excitement. As one of the UK’s premier off-road venues, it offers two distinct layouts — the Monster Track and the Mega Monster — guaranteeing two very different experiences for both quad riders and sidecar teams.

Luke Brown, Nora MX:
“I think it’s fair to say Monster Mountain really is a one-of-a-kind venue. Where else in the UK can you find six tracks, all in one location, including one as iconic as The Mega Monster! Mark and his monster mountain team are fantastic and have been incredibly accommodating, and we are excited about both events! It’s not often people can say they raced motocross on top of a mountain, let alone compete in the British Championship at such a phenomenal venue.”

A Boost for Welsh Off-Road Motorsport

For Welsh fans, riders and sidecar teams, this announcement is a big milestone. It marks the return of British Championship quad and sidecar racing to Welsh soil — and shows that both Nora MX and the ACU are committed to expanding beyond the English tracks. By reaching further across the UK, they’re recognising and supporting the strong off-road community in Wales, giving local riders and fans the chance to experience top-level championship racing closer to home.

Dafydd Davies, Welsh quadcross rider:
“It’s been many years since a British quad championship event has been held in Wales, and I’m super excited for it to be at Monster Mountain for the 2026 calendar! And for Nora MX to be holding their club rounds at the venue too is great for the quad racing community in Wales. I hope to get local family and friends to come and watch the races and see what I can do!”

Growing the Future of Quad and Sidecarcross

With club membership numbers rising and new venues joining the rotation, Nora MX continues to play a key role in developing the sport from grassroots to national level. Partnering with Monster Mountain for two major 2026 events cements its position at the forefront of off-road racing in the UK — and marks a proud moment for Welsh motorsport.

Luke Brown, Nora MX:
“The Dirt Day Festival was a huge success last year, and it’s something the Nora MX Team were proud to be a part of. Events like this are few and far between, bringing all formats of
off-road racing into one festival is exactly what the community needs! Let’s highlight the great sport we all love to people who may have never seen Quads and Sidecars. It’s an event we are keen to support and watch grow. With the hard work Mark and his team put in, I have no doubt the festival will continue to flourish and be a key date in everyone’s calendar. We have been working on some exciting initiatives behind the scenes to continue to drive the sport, which has always been our core goal, and Venues like Monster Mountain and events like the Dirt Days Festival are key to that growth.”

Nora MX remains committed to driving the growth of off-road racing at both club and national levels, with a strong focus on supporting new riders and youth development. Its partnership with Monster Mountain is more than a calendar highlight — it’s a clear statement of intent to elevate the sport across England and Wales, delivering top-tier competition in a welcoming, family-focused atmosphere.
