- Billy Bolt becomes six-time FIM SuperEnduro World Champion
- Bolt takes overall victory in United Kingdom ahead of Jonny Walker and Mitch Brightmore
- Wojtek Walczak wins FIM Youth SuperEnduro World Cup
A 10,000 strong crowd filled Newcastle’s Utilita Arena for the sixth and penultimate round of the 2025/2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in the United Kingdom to witness Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt crowned world champion. With a strong points cushion built up, Bolt clinched the title in Final 2, before going on to win the SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom. Earning his sixth world title, Bolt now ties with Poland’s Taddy Błażusiak on the all-time win list.
While Bolt further cemented his status as one of SuperEnduro’s greatest riders, the SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom marked the beginning of 15-year-old Wojtek Walczak (KTM) sporting journey. The rising Polish star won the FIM Youth SuperEnduro World Cup thanks to his overall victory in Newcastle. Britain’s Toby Shaw (GASGAS) took the overall win in the Junior class.

PRESTIGE – SUPERPOLE
Determined to put his best foot forward to begin his home round of the championship in Newcastle, Bolt was hot off the mark for SuperPole. Despite X-Grip Racing’s Mitch Brightmore setting a strong benchmark time to beat, Bolt made short work of the course under the lights of the Utilita Arena to top the time sheets by a healthy 0.453 seconds. Beaten only by Bolt, Mitch Brightmore could be pleased by second. Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Jonny Walker collected the final SuperPole point on offer with the third fastest time. Making it four Brits in the top four, Ashton Brightmore was fourth, with the Stark Future pairing of Eddie Karlsson and Toby Martyn in fifth and sixth, respectively. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler completed SuperPole in seventh.

PRESTIGE FINAL 1
With the Prestige class lined up for the first race of the night, Mitch Brightmore judged the start to perfection and took the Diverse Extreme Team holeshot. Immediately the fight for first was on, with Brightmore leading Bolt and Walker on lap one. With the support of his hometown of Newcastle behind him, Bolt found a way past Mitch Brightmore in the rock garden and took over the race lead to the delight of the Utilita Arena. However, Mitch Brightmore maintained pressure, only allowing Bolt to open a three-second lead. But, the X-Grip Racing rider hit trouble, crashing twice within the space of a lap. Capitalising on Brightmore’s mistakes, Walker inherited second position. With Bolt winning Final 1, Walker took second, leaving Mitch Brightmore to pay the price for his mistakes with third.

PRESTIGE FINAL 2
For Prestige Final 2, it was Fast Eddy Racing’s Harry Edmondson who took the Diverse Extreme Team holeshot in front of his home crowd. Quickly, Walker took up the race lead and built a four-second gap. Bolt gave chase and worked hard to reel the Triumph rider back in. With the crowd on their feet, Bolt closed the gap. However, Walker held firm and managed to pull away as Bolt crashed numerous times. Ultimately, Walker went on to claim a deserved race victory over Mitch Brightmore in second, with Bolt forced to settle for third. But third was enough for the Husqvarna rider to clinch the 2025/2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. Crossing the finish line, Bolt celebrated in style with team, family and friends.

PRESTIGE FINAL 3
With the world title settled, attention turned to who would win the SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom when the Prestige class lined up for Final 3. Both Walker and freshly crowned world champion Bolt were tied on points, setting up a winner-takes-all scenario in Newcastle. With emotions still high, Bolt was determined to end his night on the top step of the podium. Grabbing the Diverse Extreme Team holeshot, he immediately put himself into the lead. Executing a perfect race, he won Final 3 by four seconds. Behind him, a race-long battle between Walker and Mitch Brightmore resulted in Brightmore taking second, with Walker third. Ashton Brightmore held off Karlsson to end Final 3 in fourth.

PRESTIGE – OVERALL
Bouncing back in style to win Final 3, Bolt took the SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom overall victory, capping off an incredible night on home soil in Newcastle. Thanks to his Final 2 race win, Walker ended his night as runner-up ahead of Mitch Brightmore in third. A strong ride by Ashton Brightmore saw him finish fourth overall in what is only his second outing having returned from injury last weekend in Serbia. Karlsson completed the top five.

JUNIOR – DOMINANT RIDE BY TOBY SHAW AT HOME GP
The SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom saw Britain’s Toby Shaw (GASGAS) enjoy his best performance of the season to date by winning all three races to win the Junior class overall and with it take the championship lead.
Rising to the pressure of a home round, Shaw began his night in dominant fashion. Taking control of the race lead on the opening lap of Final 1, the young Brit led the entire 11 laps to win by a very comfortable 21 seconds. Behind him, Britain’s Fraiser Lampkin (Beta) put in a solid ride to take second over the United States’ Niko Piazza (Triumph).
Romania’s Marius Popovici (KTM) led early in Final 2, but a hard-charging Shaw was quickly up to speed and pushed his way to the front on lap two. Never headed, he went on to win by almost 13 seconds over Germany’s Henry Strauss (KTM), with Lampkin following him across the finish line in third.
With confidence high, Shaw was eager to end his night in style in Newcastle. Once again, he grabbed the lead on lap one and never looked back. Securing a start-to-finish victory over Spain’s Manuel Gómez (Stark) in second and Lampkin third, Shaw made it three wins to top the overall Junior class podium. With just the final round of the season remaining in France next weekend, Shaw also becomes the new holder of the 24MX leader plate. With a 2-3-3 scorecard, Lampkin made it a British 1-2 in Newcastle. Improving in Final 3, Gómez completed the podium in third. Strauss and Piazza rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.

YOUTH – WALCZAK SECURES FIM YOUTH SUPERENDURO WORLD CUP TITLE
Poland’s Wojtek Walczak (KTM) claimed the FIM Youth SuperEnduro World Cup title with a winning performance at the SuperEnduro GP of United Kingdom. As the 24MX points leader from round one in Poland, the 15-year-old put the finishing touches to an incredible championship campaign in Newcastle.
Locked in a battle for the Youth Cup title with Britain’s Connor Watson (Sherco), Walczak needed to deliver a strong ride if he wished to walk away from Newcastle as the overall winner before next weekend’s season finale in France. Putting up a fight, Watson applied the pressure with a dominant win in Final 1. Recovering from a crash, Walczak battled his way back to second, with Austria’s Luca Kropitsch (KTM) third.
Focusing hard on Final 2, Walczak emerged from the first corner in the lead and set about clinching the overall series win. A crash by Watson put him behind, and despite his best efforts charging through the pack, could only reach as high as second position. With Walczak winning, the FIM Youth SuperEnduro World Cup title was his, along with the overall win on the night. With Watson runner-up, Kropitsch took third. Spain’s Eneko Martinez (Beta) took fourth overall with two fourth-place finishes, while Germany’s Max Eppelmann (KTM) completed the top five.
The 2025/2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship now looks set to conclude with the season finale next Saturday, March 7, in Douai, France.
