Reigning MXGB British Women’s Motocross champion Libby Chatburn begins her title defence this weekend, 21st and 22nd March, as the 2026 season begins at Fatcat Motoparc, but the big guns of British Women’s Motocross will be hunting her down as they look to make their mark on the new-look championship.
Chatburn won four out of the five rounds last year and will be looking to replicate that feat this time round, but with the championship gaining in profile, so has the competition.
Coming into this round as a strong favourite will have to be Lucy Barker, who is a three-time European Women’s Motocross Champion and a rider who has made it into the top five at World Championship rounds. Joining Barker on the WMX GP scene in 2026 is another rider expected to be contending for the MXGB title, Lauren Collingwood, who won Round 3 last year with a maximum.
Other riders to keep your eyes on will be 2025 AMCA British Women’s Champion Amber McGregor and last year’s runner-up Holly Williams, who was only 15 points down on Chatburn at the end of the championship.
There are plenty of other riders, too, who will have the speed to contend for podiums, and we look forward to seeing how the championship shapes up in 2026 over the five rounds.
