A DJ & some Broken Records! 2025 Lincolnshire Enduro Club Finale - Race Report & Results!

Lincolnshire Enduro Club was only set up a few years ago, and in that time, it has gone from strength to strength. This year has been one of the biggest and best, in more ways than one.

First of all, with this, the last race of the 2025 season, the Dust Devils sponsored club celebrated its 70th event since it was launched back in late 2016. Not only that but a club record was smashed regarding the number of entrants for the year, well over 1100 for the eight round series.

All class winners, etc, are now decided with the last race taking place over a 7.8-mile mixed course at Ashby Peurorum at the weekend. Having had one of his most successful years ever, Dan Johnson (DJ) is the new club Champion in the Experts group. His title comes alongside the same title he won back in 2023 and a class win in the British Enduro Championship earlier this year, too. In the race itself, in what was the biggest Experts class seen for a while, Dan didn’t manage his third win on the bounce but did secure enough points to ensure what was already looking like an overall triumph. Taking into account the club’s policy of a ‘dropped round’, Dan’s title was won by nigh on twenty points. A name not seen this year, Nottinghamshire lad Scott Austin riding his Plasterpro Ltd KTM was the winner on the day, with Hayden Stansfield coming home in the runner-up spot a minute later. David Rushton was a distant third. An eighth place for Nicholas King sees him take second overall for 2025. Just behind that on the day was Josh Hamilton, who took the Bronze placing for this year. In the end, it’s been close between Nicholas and Josh overall, just three points separated them as the final places have been verified.

One of the closest battles all year produced the closest finish in the title challenge in the Clubman class. Sitting this race out, Jodie Lambley is the 2025 Champion. However, it is close after the eight rounds. He is Champion by just two single points, from Darren Wells. It is worth noting that these lads have only had one win between them all year, proving that consistency is key! George Pearce takes up the other podium spot for the year. On the day, Matthew Knowles was the victor. Niall Bowker was runner-up, and then George Pearce in third place.

The biggest winning margin in the final standings is in the Sportsman 4T Class. With five wins out of eight this year, Ryan Poole takes the crown. His domination in the year was once again witnessed on Sunday, a win by well over ten minutes. Jack Freeman was in second spot, with Simon Powell in third. Even with a ‘no show’ on Sunday, Josh Betts takes the second step of the podium for the year, with a fourth place on the day for Ross Pearson, earning third for 2025.

Two lads this year have scored six wins out of eight in their respective groups. Lee Hattersley in the Over 40’s class scored the latest of those victories at Ashby, by a little under a minute. Needless to say, Lee is the class Champion. A third spot on the day for Michael Harris sees him grab second overall this year, whilst Dan Brown in fifth secures the third place on the 2025 podium. Rob Millar took the ‘silver’ medal on the day.

Scott Austin – Winner on race day

The other rider with six wins this year is in the Over 60s group, Neil Tapper. Neil is crowned overall winner, even after using this latest race as his ‘dropped round’. Winner on the day was Mark Peckitt, which was enough to secure second place for the year. In return, Kev Bartle Sr takes third position in the year with a runner-up spot at the weekend. Third at Ashby was Paul Oates..

Another fairly dominant year has been had by Gareth Lodge in the Over 50’s class. Another win this time out, his fourth for the year, sees him take the ’25 title by eighteen points. Ian Shepherd with a fifth on Sunday, scoops up the runner-up place overall, whilst Andy Jackson stands on the other podium step for the year after finishing fourth on the day. Julian Holmes was second on race day, with Alan Vissian third.

The top three for the year overall were the same guys (and same positions) finishing in the Sportsman 2T class. With his own ‘fourth’ for 2025, Simon Cadman earns the title of the class Champ. A couple of minutes adrift on the day in the runner-up spot was Joel Doel. This secures the same position in the group. Similarly, Andrew Howe secures the same place as he finished on Sunday, third overall.

No. 669 David Rushton having a ‘moment’!

Another lad with ‘five out of eight’ this year is Ben Hampel in the Trail/Classic class. Those wins have secured this year’s title. Chasing Ben all year has been Kyle Ardito, who takes second spot overall, just four points adrift. As these two guys didn’t race at Ashby, Harry Hinkley took the spoils on race day, with Mike Livsey in the runner-up spot. Another rider using his ‘dropped round’ this time out was Shaun Avison, but he still secures the ‘Bronze’ for the year.

After another successful and productive year, the club wishes to say a big thank you to all club members, helpers, marshals, medics, catering staff, timekeepers etc etc.
