It may be late in the year, but the Landslide has attracted a super, very competitive entry offering action for Youth and Adult solo’s as well as 500cc and 1,000cc Right-Hand sidecars. Starting with the popular GT140’s, they will again be out in force and led by double British Champion Ian Clark. Challenging him will be the likes of Wayne Broadhurst, Mark Scopes, Luke Wicks, Kevin Gwillam, Charlie Hall and Tony Atkin. With a total of 18 riders entered, picking a potential winner in this one could prove extremely difficult, although Broadhurst is certainly the form rider!

After competing in the GT140’s, Luke Wicks will also start in the 250cc solo’s, a class which also features Adam Hawker, young Thomas Vining, Richie and Shane Knight and Dan Miller amongst others. The 350cc class at Leamington looks likely to be another ultra-competitive affair with 2025 GT140’s British Champion Max Broadhurst leading the entry. Back in action after a hand injury, Max has also been busy in 2025 racing on the shale and at the Landslide event will face fellow speedway rider Luke Harris, along with Dave Mears, Will Thurlby, Liam Ashcroft, Jody Hodgson, Luke Clifton, Tim Curnock and Barry Powell, 3rd in the 2025 350cc British Championship.

Back on the grass in 2025 and quickly displaying some simply super form, James Shanes is certainly the leading contender in the 500cc solo class. Challenging him will be the likes of Martin Williams and Ryan Ashcroft, as Will Thurlby and Jody Hodgson take out double entries to also start. Better known for their exploits on 250cc machinery, both Max Derrick and Liam Cox will be competing on 500cc power at the Leamington Landslide.
The 500cc Upright solos could well be a very intriguing affair with plenty of quality coming to the start line. Multi British Champion Tony Atkin tops the entry, but with the likes of David Hollingsbee, Phil Kyman, Dave Mears, Jason Prynne, Luke Tuck, and Rob Snow also present, it’s going to be good. Leamington Chairman Mike Dowling will also be competing at the Landslide event as he enters the 500cc Pre75 solo contest. Phil Kyman and Rob Snow double up in this one as Dave Hammond and John Weeks, amongst others, who provide the opposition. There’s also some rare racing action on the older mounts for 350cc classic solos with Roger Taylor, Alan Brook, Richard Hodgson, Luke Tuck, John Shipley and Mark Harris coming to the tapes.
The Landslide solo programme is completed by two classes of Youth Action. John Cox, Finley Theobald and William Offen go in the Intermediates with Brayden Blyth, Harry Little, Albie South and Archie Whitelam contesting the Juniors.
So, what about the sidecars? Well, Paul Whitelam/Richard Webb, who’s shown strong form all season long in the 1,000cc Right-Hand class, could well be the crew that they will all have to beat. Also in this competitive class will be the likes of Will Offen/Ricky Pay, Simon Beaney/Brook Fowler, Tom Marvell/Henry Rigby, Stef Blyth/Morgan Blyth, Will Penfold/Carl Pugh, Rob Heath/Sam Heath and Steve Smith/Gareth Little. Having recently partnered with Mark Cossar, Andrew Wilson will be in the chair for Peter Lloyd at Leamington.
Six crews come under starters’ orders for the 500cc sidecar contest, and what a class it promises to be! Richard Webb/Anthony Goodwin have been in super form, but in this one, Webb will be facing his regular 1,000cc sidecar partner, Paul Whitelam. In the 500cc class, Paul will have his son Luca in the chair as Trevor Heath/Adrian North, Barrie Bennett/Lucas Rowan, Mike Skelding/Louis Skelding and Phil Rowlands/Scott Gutteridge complete the line-up.
So, get yourselves along to the Leamington event for what promises to be an exciting finale to the 2025 racing season. Admission costs are £15 Adults, £12.50 Concessions, under 16’s FREE and programmes £2.50 and there’s also the opportunity to camp FREE at the venue for the entire weekend.
