The Davison’s deliver impressive Captain Tom NHS Helmet Design!

Ryan and Lewis Davison are a father and son pair, living their dream, weekends racing, having fun and coming home safe, all with the support network behind them of Lewis’s girlfriend, Mam and Sister. During these unprecedented times and the whole COVID 19 Pandemic, Lewis’s Mam and Sister have been on the front-line working in the local A&E department, and it was during a chance conversation while watching Captain Tom on the TV doing his amazing fund-raising walk that the idea of a helmet design came about.

Motocross was not always going to be the destined path for Lewis. Up until the age of 18 Football was the main focus, with Caps for England schools under 18 and a scholarship with Aston Villa until that contract ended. When one door closes another opens, however, and with the help of good family friends Marcus, Dave and Ash Kane at STS offroad a YZF was purchased, and the Motocross journey began. Today the pair travel up and down the country following the Acerbis Nationals and namely the stacked 125 class, and it was there where they met James Lassu of Jtwo Gfx the second cog in the Captain Tom NHS helmet dream.

Lewis and his Dad have always been into custom helmets, with many done over the years from East Coast Airbrush, but with the above conversation at home and a phone call with James Lassu the idea was turned into a reality, and a White Arai helmet was sent down for James to work his magic.

The finished article, as you can see is amazing and a fitting tribute to Captain Tom after raising a staggering 32million pounds, as well as the unbelievable efforts and dedication of all NHS staff 100% of the time, but even more so during these unprecedented times.

Lewis and Ryan would like to thank the guys at STS Offroad racing in Northumberland who have backed them since day 1, Anthony Skerry of Stebbings Car superstore, Peter Johnson of PJMX, Mark Spencer of CPS and James Lassu for his time put into the helmet. And I think we would all like to thank Lewis’s Mam and Sister for their efforts alongside their colleagues in the Uk’s hospitals and finally Captain Tom……. we salute you.
