Round Five of the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship heads to the newest circuit on the 2026 calendar, as the series crosses the bridge into Wales and descends on Monster Mountain. Fans can look forward to an extra special layer of excitement on top of what has already been an unmissable season’s racing, as Monster Mountain MX has extended a personal invitation to MXGP World Champion Jeffrey Herlings to join the field in the MX1 class.

Herlings, the all-time leader in career Grand Prix victories, stands as one of motocross’s greatest competitors of any era. The Dutchman who is now part of the Honda HRC Petronas squad, has wasted no time continuing to make his mark, most recently claiming the MXGP of France overall at Lacapelle-Marival. Known simply as “The Bullet,” Herlings continues to be driven not by accolades alone, but by a genuine love for the sport, a passion that shows no signs of fading.
There is no doubt that Herlings’ presence at Round Five will add a compelling new dimension to proceedings, bringing an additional layer of excitement to one of the most pivotal rounds on this year’s calendar. His presence is set to fire up both the competition and the crowd, making Monster Mountain a must-visit destination on Sunday, June 14th
The Apico MX1 championship is currently balanced on a knife’s edge, with just 12 points separating Conrad Mewse, Ben Watson, and Oriol Oliver at the top of the standings. Every gate drop at Monster Mountain will carry genuine championship weight, and with Herlings added to the mix, this could prove to be the most decisive round of the 2026 title fight.

In the MX2 class we’ve already five winners across eight races and Monster Mountain could be anyone’s day. Charlie Heyman carries the red plate aboard his SC Sporthomes Husqvarna into Monster Mountain, holding a comfortable 37-point lead over second-placed Ben Mustoe. Mustoe, however, has his own battle to contend with, as 2025 MX2 British champion Tommy Searle breathes down his neck in third. With five different winners across the eight races so far, add Jamie Keith and Gyan Doensen to the names above, Monster Mountain could well deliver two more names to the list. Anyone in the top 12 is more than capable of standing on the top step, making this arguably the most competitive class in the championship.
The next generation of racing stars are coming to the forefront in the RFX MX125 class, with Drew Stock leading the way and showing the field exactly how it’s done, securing all but one of the race wins to date. Class rookie Harley Marczak sits in a strong second, trailing Stock by 35 points but holding a 50-point buffer over third-placed Joel Winstanley-Dawson. It is further down the order where the battle truly ignites, with just seven points separating third through sixth. Olly Waters currently occupies third, with Archie Stapley and Alfie Herron in fourth and fifth respectively, and with positions shifting by the race, every lap at Monster Mountain matters.
With championships this tight across every class and MXGP World Champion Jeffrey Herlings in attendance thanks to Monster Mountain MX, Round Five represents another pivotal chapter in the 2026 season. Spectators are in for a genuinely unmissable day of MX racing action.
