Franky’s The Don At Cusses! 2022 Kensworth Club Championship Round 8 – Race Report & Results

Kensworth Schoolboy Motocross Club headed to Cusses Gorse in Wiltshire for round eight of their championship.

Franky Donoghue took the overall in the Junior 65’s his super smooth riding saw him cruise to victory taking all 3 Moto wins. Finley Thompson and Chad Stevenson battled for the other podium positions. Thompson took second, with Stevenson third.

Hunter Groves, Harley-James Barrow and Austin Edwards battled in the Auto class Barrow took the overall with a 3-1-1, Edwards took second overall with a consistent 2-2-2, and Groves was third.

An on-fire Jack Leese took the overall in the Small Wheel 85 class Jenson Severn took second overall with Travis Bixby third.

In the Schoolboy 125 class, Robert Storer took first overall; as he warmed to the track throughout the day, he just got better and better. Charlie Hucklebridge’s consistency paid off to take the second podium place, with Kyron Carron third.

In the Schoolboy 250 class, Tye Jones showed his dominance on the day to take a great first overall. A great ride from Alfie Gomm saw him take the second podium place, with Tyler Etheridge third.

In the Big Wheel 85 class, Rocco Hands yet again showed his class by taking a 1-1-1. Kai Thorpe, who was nipping at Hands heels took second overall, with Ben Casey third. A special shout goes to Lewis Evans, who showed great sportsmanship, when he crashed with a rider at the bottom of a jump, and pushed his bike aside to help his fellow rider who was stuck under his bike in a very precarious position.

In the fast under 35 class Sebastian Berthiaume dominated in races one and two, Berthiaume DNS race three, so it was, it was left to a number of riders to battle for the podium positions. Luke Southern took the overall with a 3-2-5. Ashden Barlow took second with a 2-10-2 James Thompson took the final podium position with a great final win on the day.

In the Over 35 class, Super smooth veteran Matty White took a great 1-1-1. A consistent ride from Stevie Worts saw him take the second podium place, with Darren Knight third.

Matt Bates showed the Cusses Gorse jumps didn’t faze him or the Evo KX500 to take the overall in the over 50’s class. Hayden Carter took second overall, with Darren Williams third.

KSMXC head to Chatteris for round nine of their championship. Booking in opens for non-members via GoRace at 8pm on Monday, 19th September.
