Dirty Dozen with Nathan Watson

The ever-smiling Sand ace, WESS Competitor and Team GB MXON racer Nathan Watson is the latest rider to go under our Dirty Dozen Microscope and here is how it came out…

Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Play list you listen too, and if so name a couple of tracks that are on it?

Nathan: I’d love to have an interesting answer to this… but nopeee. Never listen to music before a race!

DH: When was the last time you cried?

Nathan: I wouldn’t call it crying, but I had a few tears in my eyes when they told us we were on the podium at MXON!

DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Nathan: If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.

DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

Nathan: Yeah, I put all my left side kit on first (left sock before right… left knee brace before right etc. Haha)

DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

Nathan: I don’t need any drive because I just enjoy doing what I do! (Most of the time anyway haha)

DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play or take part in?

Nathan: I do all sorts of sports, I love doing any sport! But I’m not that good at any of them so I’d deffo have to get a normal job.

DH: What is your biggest Phobia?

Nathan: Sharks!

DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol and why?

Nathan: Nobody springs to mind reading that question… I‘ve never really had an idol. But if I had to say someone now it would have to be Ross Edgley… the stuff he’s done is unbelievable.

DH: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Nathan: I would love to be back racing motocross and still doing the beach racing over the winter.

DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?

Nathan: Dumb and Dumber

DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

Nathan: My Parents! Especially my old man ‘Rambo’… he’s done some graft for us over the years haha. Wouldn’t be where I am without them.

DH: What is your philosophy on life?

Nathan: I don’t really go by one.. but I’m definitely a positive person. I’d have to say something like ‘Appreciate it and enjoy yourself!’
