Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen too, and if so name a couple of tracks that are on it?

James: I normally just listen to music on the radio on the way to a meeting. Once I’m at a meeting I don’t listen to music I’m too busy making sure everything is okay with my equipment.

Dirt Hub: When was the last time you cried?

James: That’s a hard question, probably when my best mate passed away.

Dirt Hub: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

James: My favourite quote would have to be, “If you’re not first you’re last”

Dirt Hub: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

James: I’m a really chilled person so I don’t think I do have any pre-race rituals I think the only thing I do is make sure I’m always early to a meeting.

Dirt Hub: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

James: My family is my drive, Unfortunately, I have to work through the winter, so I have to train after work in the evenings.

Dirt Hub: If you didn’t race what sport would you play or take part in?

James: If I didn’t race I would like to play football

Dirt Hub: What is your biggest Phobia?

James: My biggest phobia would be heights

Dirt Hub: Who is your biggest sporting idol and why?

James: Mark Loram, he was pure talent on a bike, and he always gave 100% until the chequered flag.

Dirt Hub: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

James: Hopefully still racing whether that’s speedway or grasstrack. If not supporting my children in a sport that they love doing.

Dirt Hub: What is your all-time favourite movie?

James: I’d have to say Shawshank Redemption.

Dirt Hub: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

James: My grandad, he’s always supported me from day 1.

Dirt Hub: What is your philosophy on life?

James: My philosophy would have to be “you only get out of life what you put in”. I’m a firm believer in this.
