Ben’s Victorious!! 2023 Kensworth MXC Championship Round 1 – Race Report & Results

Kensworth Schoolboy Motocross Club’s 2023 season opener took place at Mildenhall.

This was the clubs first qualifying round of the Revo British youth championship for the junior 65’s and Small wheel 85’s.

First race nerves filled the start line air, as the Junior 65 class started the day. Cohen Jagielski took the overall with a smooth dominate ride to take victory in every Moto. A consistent John Slade took second, with Jack Stanford third.

In the Youth 125/250’s. Rocco Hands took the Holeshot and an early lead in race one, but unfortunately, his bike seized. A fast Kai Thorpe took the advantage and took the first race win. Ben Casey overcome his first race nerves and took victory in race two, fisting the air as he took the chequered flag.. In the final Moto, the spectators were given the race of the day, with Thorpe and Casey going head to head, Casey won to take the overall, with Thorpe second and Mikey Ward third.

In the youth 250 class Charlie Nudds took the overall with Danny Moore second and George Brant third.

Austin Edwards took the overall win in the Auto class with a 1-1-2. A very consistent Max Miller took second with a 2-2-1 with Cohan Llewellyn taking the final podium spot.

In the Small wheel 85 class Chase Panter took victory in race one, but it was Jack Leese who took first in race two and three to take the overall victory. Franky Donoghue had a great consistent ride to take second overall, Panter managed to secure the third podium place.

In the Big Wheel 85 class Benjamin Arthurton took the first podium position with a smooth 1-1-1. Leyton Turner took the second podium place with a 2-2-5, with a great ride from William Green to take the final podium place.

In the fast under 35 class Todd Richie dominated in all three Motos. The Wood brothers Matt and Rob took the other podium places, with Rob getting the better over his brother to take second podium spot.

In the Over 35 class, Super smooth veteran Matty White took a great 1-1-1. A consistent ride from Stevie Worts saw him take the second podium place with Steve Bixby third.

In the over 50’s class a come back from Paul ‘Wildman’ Willis saw him take the overall with Sid Richardson second and Darren Williams Third.

Well done to the amazing KSMXC team, who worked their socks off to complete round 1.
