The 2026 FIM World Motocross Championship heads to Terra Topia MX Track in South Africa this weekend for round 11 of the series as the championship embarks on one of its most anticipated stops of the season. The event marks the first visit to South Africa in a decade, with the world’s best riders set to tackle the all-new Terra Topia MX Track as the second half of the championship gets underway.

Championship leader Lucas Coenen will be looking to strengthen his advantage in MXGP, while Jeffrey Herlings arrives full of confidence after claiming his 117th career Grand Prix victory in Portugal.
There will be plenty of local interest in the MX2 class, with Monster Energy Triumph Racing’s Camden McLellan lining up in front of his home fans for the first time as a Grand Prix winner and factory Triumph rider. The South African will be aiming to make the most of home advantage, while teammate Guillem Farrés arrives in Johannesburg fresh from his dominant double-race victory in Portugal.

While there are no British riders making the trip to South Africa, British Championship followers will recognise several names on the entry list. Jayden Ashwell returns to race on home soil in the MXGP class after spending recent seasons competing in the UK, while Cameron Durow and Tristan Durow have both featured in the British Championship this year and will be hoping home advantage can deliver strong results.
