The eighth stage of the 2021 Dakar Rally saw Sam Sunderland continue to be in contention and holding onto third in the standings with a fourth-place finish.

David Knight finished a fantastic 25th in the stage which now takes him up to 34th saying on his facebook page “More progress today, kept it very steady from the start and just got into my own rhythm, got stronger as the day went on. I just keep chipping away to try get to that finish line. Best wishes to my teammate @xavierdesoultrait who had a big accident today.”
Neil Hawker was 46th and sits in 45th overall.
