The QRA Great 8 is back for 2, 3 and 4 wheels – Entries now open
These may be challenging times but the Quad Racing Association UK which started back in 1992 are never shy of either facing challenges or creating them such as the Great 8 8 hour Quad event and it’s sub events with support for the event going well.
The 14th edition of the Great 8 8 Hour Quad Endurance event takes place on the Sunday of its traditional date of August Bank Holiday (29th 30th) There are Five additional events on the Saturday 29th to enhance the weekend with the kids kicking things off with event one, the 2.5 hour Youth Quad event with the Mini Quads joining in one hour from the end.
Then it’s time for some nostalgia and amazing sounds as the Evo Quads and ATC/Trikes take to the 7 to 8km lap for their hour long event. Honda ATC 250’s and TRX250’s to PDV Yamaha Banshees singing away amongst air cooled legends like the TRX400 and Yamaha Warriors.
Event three is the 2 hour Mini Bike event with Youth and adult classes, lone rider or team. This always produces some good racing and lots of smiles.
Event Four, how do you describe this as a serious event other than Big Kids on Kids Quads (and trikes)! What we have are Adults (18 plus) on standard youth Quads on a short course for 40 minutes.
Sunday will see the 14th staging of the Great 8 8 Hour Endurance event. Some take the challenge alone as an Ironman/lady and others as a team with two riders sharing a machine or one each.
The venue is right next to the M4 at junction 13 for the A34 and is in the Newbury Showground, Berkshire. It has hard standing parking for the team pit bays and fantastic access roads. The course itself has the traditional Great 8 flowing sections, long straights and even a section of road. Plus woodland, jumps, undulations, banked turns and an oval.
The organisers will be closely following the government guidelines whilst providing as to be expected, a fun weekend. All entries must be done in advance of the event and contactless, regulations, schedule and online entry is available via; https://buytickets.at/qrauk or any further questions email email@example.com.
