SHERCO WIN THEIR FIRST ENDURO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Last weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th August was an historical occasion for Sherco and the MRS team. Factory rider Jack Edmondson won Sherco’s first British Championship at Green Hall Farm, Llanfyllin pulling off the overall Sprint Championship. In fact, such was his lead, he actually won the title on Saturday but put all his efforts into Sunday to finish on a high in second place on his Factory 3.0 SEF Sherco behind World Champion Steve Holcombe.

Sherco Factory MRS rider, Dan Mundell, also had a brilliant weekend, marred somewhat by a crash in the early stages of Saturday which resulted in him breaking a finger. Dan was on it at the start with two second places to Holcombe but the crash put paid to him being able to push as hard as he would have liked to but he finished the weekend well in third place on his Factory Sherco 2.5 SEF, behind his team mate and good friend Jack Edmondson. There is very healthy competition between these two riders who push each other to the limit on the track but are the best of friends off it!
MRS Sherco rider, Jed Etchells also had a good weekend on his 3.0 SE Factory 2T, finishing 6th overall. Both Jed and Dan have been picked to ride for Great Britain in the ISDE which takes place in Portugal in November.
Next event for Jack and Dan will be the World Championship round in Czechoslovakia the weekend of 14th-15th September where Dan Mundell has been given special dispensation from the factory to move up to the Junior Class on his 2.5 4T so both Jack and Dan will be competing against each other in this class.
Jack Edmondson – “I’m super happy to wrap up the overall British Sprint Championship on Saturday. I’ve been working hard for this result all year and the people around me have been very supportive so it’s a great to get to this point. My day was good I stayed consistent on all my tests to secure second behind Steve. Thanks to all at MRS who have had my back all year, my family CH Racing and Sherco.
Sunday was another good day for me with second overall behind Steve again. I’m really pleased to have put in some good times and even win a test half way through the day. Now it’s time to focus on the next rounds of the World Championship in Czech. Thanks again to all my team.”
Dan Mundell – “I had another good weekend aboard the Sherco 250F at the final British Sprint Championship. Day one started well with second fastest time but a small slip off in test two left me with what turns out to be a broken finger and the skin burst open on the end. I lost a bit of time in that incident but got it cleaned out and strapped up and managed to climb back up to fourth overall and 1st E1 on Day one.
On day two I was off to another good start and I rode pretty good all day despite a slip off in test 3. On day two I missed second by just two seconds but I was happy to win E1 again and finish on the third step of the podium for the day and overall for the weekend. Thank you to Malcolm, Rhoda and Martin Rathmell for attending the events this year.”
