RFX KTM RACING powered by PAR HOMES Dig Deep in Portugal
The track surface of the Crossodromo Internacional do Casarao in Agueda, (near Porto) Portugal is not unlike Canada Heights in the UK and although sandy, is more hard-pack, than soft. The track was watered well but was fast and the riders said it was quite one-line and hard to pass…

This was another tough weekend for the team, with the added loss of our star mechanic Ryan H who was hospitalized with a double slipped discs.
The team pooled together seamlessly and both Shaun Simpson and Charlie Putnam were looked after well.
Charlie was just inside the top-20 in timed quali in P18 and his solid P16 in moto1 was followed by a hard fought P19 in moto2 after a first lap crash for two good rides. Charlie had to up his pace in the closing stages to snatch the two, well deserved championship points.
Simmo’s pace on Saturday in free practice AND timed qualification was some way away from where we needed to be. We had no problems and Shaun was as mystified as we all were… SS looked quite fast but the timing screen told a different story way down in P26.
Onward and upward…
Shaun managed to turn a poor gate position into an good P12 down to the line in front of Seewer and Coldenhof for Sunday’s race, but two mid-field starts and several first lap dramas left team Simmo fighting hard and ultimately riding well for 2 x P13 finishes and 16 valuable points, though a slip in the championship standings which we hope to claw back this weekend.
The GP trail now heads to France…
