Kullas and Brookes end MX Nationals on a high for Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha!
Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha rider Harri Kullas wrapped up his Michelin MX Nationals campaign this weekend, going into this final round crowned as champion, after winning the previous week at Landrake.
Harri was 6th fastest in qualifying and then got a great start in third place, behind Shaun Simpson and Josh Gilbert. Simpson and Gilbert edged away as Harri settled for a comfortable 3rd place in front of Dylan Walsh.
In race two, Harri was 5th at the end of lap one, before moving past Evgeny Bobryshev and then Dylan Walsh on lap 5. Harri kept 2nd place Shaun Simpson in sight, but never quite got close enough to pass. He managed the last few laps well, settling for 3rd in the race and 3rd overall on the day, giving him a final series standing lead of a brilliant 80 points.

“Well in the end I need to be happy for today.
“Not my best performance track in the past anyway, but today I managed to step up my riding.
“I knew some are very good on the dry hardpack track and my goal was to have decent practice day as I got the championship last weekend.
“Had good start first one, couple wrong lines choices dropped me 3rd in first lap. Then I just tried to follow the guys in front of me, I managed to stay few laps but then they were fighting for the win so I settled for 3rd.
“Second race started around 5th and worked my way to 3rd early race. Then leader had already big gap but I tried to push with 2nd place rider and managed to stay quite well with him until he pulled some good laps in the end so again I settled for 3rd!
“Overall I am happy. We tried little bit different setting and I felt better second race so it was learning and good training day on those conditions.
“Thank you to my team behind me! Everyone is doing their own job really well so it is great to have good people around me”
Tough weekend for Dan…..
Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha rider Dan Thornhill continued his Michelin MX Nationals campaign this weekend with round 5 at Cusses Gorse, Wiltshire.
Dan was 14th fastest in MX1 qualifying and then had a collision with another rider at the start of race one, putting him almost last early on.
Dan put on an awesome charge and into the top 10 MX1 by mid race, eventually finishing in 9th place.
In race two, Dan didn’t get the start he wanted and was outside the top 20 on lap one. He made steady progress through the pack until he dropped his lap times later on, putting in his fastest lap of the race on lap 12 and by doing so, moved up to 11th in MX1.
Dan finished 9th overall on the day and 8th in the MX1 final standings.

“A poor Qualifying session today made the day quite a struggle. With the alternate MX1&2 result to the start line, I found myself very far wide on the start.
“Two tough starts and being in the war zone all day was how it went down for me.
“9-11 for 9th overall was the best I could do. Looking ahead to Duns this weekend. Thanks as always to the whole Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha team”
Brookes take the win at MX Nationals…
Joe Brookes was looking to end his Michelin MX Nationals campaign in style at Cusses Gorse in Wiltshire, after a positive come back the previous week at round 4.
Joe qualified 2nd fastest in the MXY1 (125cc) class, then on the first lap of race one, Joe crashed but remounted quickly. Joe set a blistering pace and amazingly took the MXY1 lead on lap 4, pulling away from the chasing pack and winning by a huge 42 seconds.
Race two and Joe struggled to get off the line and was buried in the pack and well outside the top 10. He pulled through to 2nd place by mid-race but race leader, Charlie Heyman was long gone and Joe finished 2nd .
Race three saw another 2nd place for Joe, just 5 seconds behind Heyman at the finish.
In race 4 Joe got a fantastic start and led from start to finish, running with the top 250 riders and finishing 2nd in the race but 1st in the 125cc class, by a huge 28 second margin. The last race win also gave Joe the overall win for a brilliant weekend on the Yamaha YZ125.

Thank you to the whole Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha team and Ashley Wilde for all the help and to Gary for making sure my bike is on point”
