King Ted! Pit Bike Speedway Xmas special ”KING OF THE RING” – Race Report and Results
Edward Kennett put the disappointment of his GP first round nightmare well behind him with a faultless 16 point elite maximum in front of a bumper 100+ christmas crowd at Iwade today.

With the new 3 tier grading system working to great effect the racing was super close and every race win was furiously fought after on every inch of the fantastic Iwade circuit.
With the King of the ring rules putting the top three from each final on the front row of the next final it was all still to fight for after the 32 qualifying heats.Kennett proved he wasn’t ring rusty and rimmed the boards from the back row to hit the front of the pack and take the glory hole of honours, laurels and the big dong title of 2018 KING OF THE RING 👑 .
December GP1 winner Mitchel Godden proved his rich form is no fluke slicing through the field to bring his Zircon M2R home in second but he was no match for Kennett’s overall speed. (🤔 the whispers are rife)
Coming home in 3rd position was PitBike speedway returnee Matt Sauly. He made the A final front row after progressing from the B, it remains to be seen if this was a one time showing for Sauly or will he be back on the PFS (IFA) Ltd world championship trail in January.
🏁The lower finals produced some amazing daredevil racing throughout. Lydia Penfold was the first to shine progressing from the “G” final (3rd), “F” final (3rd), “E” final (3rd) to finally finish the “D” final in 4th and 19th overall, similarly revving Ron Steward finished 6th in D coming way back from the G. Chris White hugged the line and made it from the E > B final and Ben Ilsley qualified for his first A final from the C final Pro-Am class.
Current World champion Rob Mear could only muster a lowly 5th after Kennett carved him up from the crowded back row A final start. With Rob’s 30th Birthday on the eve on GP round 2 is it down hill from Here for Mr Mear?
The Missile Charley Powell was again only firing blanks! When will he the real Missile arrive? Who knows!!
The Biggest question remains however, how many valve’s is Kennett running? The official protest fee has been reduced by public demand from £500 to only £1, and so it has been suggested that King of the Ring Kennett doesn’t tighten his rocker cover bolts to tight!
Will the Kennett dial-a-crowd still be cheering?
