With many riders hungry for a post Christmas power out, there was a good line up in all classes with some notable big names in the Adult A class, including local hero Liam Knight and British Champs racer Michael Ellis, but neither on them could catch the super fast Taylor Hammal aboard his Rob Hooper Racing Yamaha.

Hammal stormed to all three race wins, and while Knight and Ellis only took on the first moto, Josh Coleman slogged it out in each race to finish an excellent second overall.  Results were up and down throughout the rest of the field and the rider who strung together the best three point scoring rides was Josh Turner, who was rewarded with a well earned third position.

The smallest racers on show were the Small Wheel 85’s and it was Oliver Ruddock who ended his 2018 with a pristine three ride maximum and the overall.  Max Hoare put in a solid performance with second, with Jack Driver in third.

It wasn’t so clear cut in the Big Wheel 85’s. Josh Bassett was quick out of the blocks and took the Moto 1 and 2 wins, only for Tye Jones to hit back with the final race chequered flag, which was enough for him to take the overall from Bassett, with Frankie Elwell in third.

There was stacks of talent in the Rookie class, and leading the lot of them for a 1-1-1 scorechart was Bobby Wayne Bruce, who headed home Thomas Casbeard in second and Sonny Smyth third.

Tony Tunnell reeled back the years with a triple win result and the Vets Over 40 victory.  Gary Chappel edged out John Barnes for second.

In the Vets Over 50’s Steve Wells reigned victorious with race wins in each Moto, ahead of Ray Chivers in second and Ivor Gildford third.

Nick Tull used his moto 1 win to full advantage to take the Adult B class podium top step. Dan Johnson was second but rued his first moto where his low scoring ride pinned him into second overall despite him winning the last two races. Edward Dyne rode well for third.

The club would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported the club in 2018.
