A 3 race schedule throughout the day ran like clockwork with all classes having a course set out perfectly for them…
The Kids kicked off the day at 9am with a short, quarry basin only extreme enough special… A small but fully committed entry tackled the tricky terrain with massive courage and endeavour and all of the youngsters did very well indeed. Top Honours went to the very smooth, Jake Willis with Lucas Travers and Ryan Griffiths in 2nd and third spot in that order. Willis did an impressive 20 laps with his Runners up on 18 each. Jack Brooks was the other big winner in the kid’s race as he was the only 8-year-old taking place and completed a brilliant 13 laps on his little Husky.
11am had Race 1 for the Adults and they had the full track to contend with and some very impressive rides where on show indeed.
Young Mitch Parkes was in a class of his own as he blasted to a clear lap victory in the Sportsman Group and indeed the overall race 1, following Parkes home as Runner Up in the sportsman class was Andy Kay with Jay Howard in 3rd spot.
Top Over 50 was Martin Wells as he passed the race leader Allan Price on the last lap to snatch a well-earned victory, both Wells and Price were on 11 laps each..On 10 laps and in 3rd place was Pete Farwell making the long trip up from down south well worthwhile.
Kahlen Tyrer was giving the track her all and finished Top lady and the only one to finish after her and Lola Stacey Jones set off in battle.
Kye Hasler topped the Youth group from Oli Harley as both riders took on the massive challenge of the event.
In the Novice class, the victory belonged to Matthew Blackburn as he had Chris Burke and Kieron Heycock matching him on 9 laps to be on the podium in that order.
All the riders in the Adult morning race doing superbly to take on the TOLB in its full glory.
A short Lunch break and track tidy for the Adult Race 2 was taken care of then it was the turn of the Experts, Clubman and Over 40 riders to take to the track and with a new steep hill and a bigger tyre section added to the track it was going to be just that little bit harder for these more experienced riders.
GasGas Rider Gethin Humphreys and KTM mounted Charlie Frost where almost inseparable at the sharp end of the results and after over 2hrs racing and battle, It was Humphreys by 3 seconds that took the win… You could almost call this one a Draw as both riders were on such good form and they were the only riders to complete 15 laps of the track each. Aled Price was 3rd with 14 solid laps and the final podium place.
Top Clubman was Toby Hall with Lee Thomas as Runner Up and Charlie Goddard in third spot with all 3 not more than seconds apart and on 13 laps each.
Over 40 victory went to the effortless style of Stephen Ethelston as he took a 4-minute winning margin from Runner Up, Steve Norbury and Gareth Leonard matched them two as the only riders to complete 12 laps in class.
To Sum Up, it was a superb event as expected and was well-received by all the riders and spectators alike with the challenge and the general set up and atmosphere of the event being all anyone could wish for, another success for Steve and his team at WOR Events.
The next WOR is one of the always popular Forest Playdays in the Llandrillo woods in a few weeks time on Sat 26th October and then the Bike Ind Sucker Punch Extreme Enduro the following day on the Sunday 27th October ( as this goes to press the Sucker Punch is full and a small reserve list is being taken)
