Gabriel Motocross team revs up for the first race of the season!

The new team to watch – Gabriel Motocross – has set itself two ambitious targets for the ACU British Motocross Championship season which kicks off at Little Silver this Sunday (15 March 2020): finish within the top ten for all major races; and attract a wave of new fans to the sport.

Having undergone one of the toughest pre-season training programmes Motocross has seen, the Gabriel Motocross team of John Adamson, Liam Knight and Michael Ellis, are looking incredibly strong for the season. Their manager, Simon Gabriel, put the three through a gruelling four month fitness and nutrition programme consisting of training both on and off the track, including multiple training weeks at home and abroad, to ensure their bodies and minds would deliver a peak performance at every one of the 25 races that lie ahead of them.

Having started Motocross at the age of six, 23 year old John Adamson had an outstanding 2019 finishing 10th in the 2019 British Championships. Described as dedicated and gifted, he was offered a spot on the Gabriel Motocross team the very first time Simon Gabriel saw him ride.

Also aged 23 is Liam Knight who started racing Motocross at only four years old. Liam is a proven race winner at British Championship level, stepping up from the MX2 into the MX1 on a 450 KTM this season.

Michael Ellis, 20, is used to riding up front having won the MXY2 MX nationals and Pirreli Masters in 2016 and coming 3rd in the MX2 Pro MX Nationals 2019. His goal for this season is to achieve consistent top six places in the British Championship and Podiums at the MX nationals.

While all incredibly dedicated to the sport, they are also keen to demonstrate how fun and rewarding racing can be and the team will be running a heavy social media push on Facebook and Instagram during the season to build awareness of the sport and attract new fans.

Commenting on his hopes for the season, Team Manager Simon Gabriel said, “We have a brilliant team who all work hard and are incredibly supportive of each other. They – and all of the other riders competing – deserve greater recognition for their efforts and we hope that through social media and great results, we can raise the profile of the sport and making 2021 even bigger.”
