Full of Eastern Promise! EASSC Summer Series Round 1 – Race Report and Results

EASSC summer series got underway, with weather conditions more like winter. Unfortunately, it was wet and windy but that didn’t dampen any spirits with eager racers ready for action.

Congratulations to all rider for competing in tough conditions. Over 200 of them battled the challenges of the weather, track and one another.

First up were the Auto riders and the weather was going to give them plenty of challenges. The recipe of the day for Robbie Daly was to take each of the three race wins, with ease. Robbie showed great strength in his racing to take the wins. In race one, Chase Panter took a strong second with Aaron Todd third. In race two Finnley Barker rode a hard race to take second and Chase Panter rounding up the top three. In the final race of the day, Chase Panter took second and Ryan Taylor taking third. Overall for the day, Robbie Daly, Chase Panter and Aaron Todd.

Teddy Hyde – Small Wheel 85’s

Next out were the Juniors and they were ready to race. In race one, it was evident that the riders were hungry for the win. Riley Ingram rode hard race to take the win with Kayden Smith second and Blake Ward-Clarke third. In race two, Kayden Smith got an outstanding start and was able to pull a gap from the pack to take a well-earnt win, with Riley Ingram second and Noah Eastwood third. In race three there was frequent changing of positions and the win was up for grabs. Noah Eastwood rode a solid race to take the win with Blake Ward-Clarke second and Kayden Smith third. Overall for the day Kayden Smith, Noah Eastwood and Riley Ingram.

The Small Wheel 85 were out next seeing the battling for positions taking place throughout the field. In race one Joseph Leeks took the win, with Levi Saunders second and Kyron Carron third. Race two saw another strong race by Joseph Leeks to take the win with Cheter Hyde second and Levi Saunders third. In the final race, Levi Saunders rode a clever race to take the win with Kyron Carron second and Joseph Leeks third. Overall for the day, Joseph Leeks, Levi Saunders and Kyron Carron.

In the Big Wheel 85 class Harrison Forde rode impressively to take all three of the wins, pulling away from his competitors to give a stand out performance. In race one, Jedd Wheatley took second and Louie Evans third. Race to saw Jamie Collins got an outstanding start and he worked hard to maintain his position to take second, with Bayliss Utting making up the top three. In race three Bayliss Utting made a determined start t see him take second with Larry Harper third. Overall for the day, Harrison Forde, Bayliss Utting and Larry Harper.

The Youth Open class were up next and each of them were hungry for racing. Billy Wilson rode incredibly well to take each of the three race wins with confidence and style. In race one Casey Lambely took second place with Callum Nicholas third. Race two saw Travis Steels holding off the competition for second and Callum Nicholas third. In race three Adam Caroleo took second and Travis Steels third. Overall for the day, Billy Wilson, Travis Steels and Casey Lambely.

Olly Ward in the Auto’s

Next out were the MX2 class and they were definitely fired up and ready to go. In racing was tight at the top and a mistake by anyone could make the difference. What a day for Ryan Allison though. Strong, calm and solid riding saw him take each of the three race wins with the competition continuing behind him. In race one Sam Ongley rode an energetic race to take second, with Matty White third. Race two saw another strong ride by Sam Onley to take second and Todd Ritchie rounding up the top three. In the final race Reece Martin rode himself into second and Matty White third. Overall for the day, Ryan Allison, Matty White and Reece Martin.

Next ready to race were the Vets. Tim Clark was the ‘Vet’ of the day, with commanding performances shown in all of the three races. He opened the racing with a commanding lead and was able to pull away with comfort. In race one Cliff Lester held off the field to take second with Paul Willis third. Race two saw the same again with Cliff Lester second and Paul Willis third. In race three Cliff Lester again finished in second place, with Martin Wilson riding hard to take third. Overall results for the day, Tim Clark, Cliff Lester and Paul Willis.

Last out were the MX2 class, full of eager riders. The competition was as always fired up and ready to go. Bradley Skinner rode to take each of the three wins with class and style. He rode with composure and determination, being rewarded with three out of three race wins. In race one, Ryan watts was the next man to hunt down, but riding solidly he took second with Connor Dennis taking third. In race two Ryan Watts gave another performance resulting in second and Connor Dennis again taking third. In race three, Ryan Watts took second and Kyle Creevy third. Overall results for the day, Bradley Skinner, Ryan Watts and Kyle Creevy.

Round two of the championships is to be held on the 14th April 2019 at Wakes Colne
